So, she bailed on me for tomorrow. The short version of her excuse: "I have homework...oh, and a cold."

I'll say this, at least it was a creative excuse. Never before has there been a combination so debilitating.
Well, now I'm starting to wallow in my minor misery about this, thus escalating something that was more or less a minor setback into a full-scale "bawwww" in my mind. I hate when I do that. But, then, I was really looking forward to tomorrow—if nothing else, it was a change of pace, and I really, desperately feel like I need that. Also, I was kinda hoping something could come of it, but I always set my expectations way too high, no matter how much I tell myself not to.

What's wrong with that? Sounds like a good combination to me.

Let's not stereotype here, mm'kay?
Ah, right, context.
I've discovered that religion really is too big a thing for me to get over, in most cases. I can be friends with a Christian just fine, but dating them has always led to some fairly terrible results.
-Sigh-
Somewhere, there is a cool, single Pagan girl that isn't literally or spiritually family. Somewhere.

*shrug* Different strokes, I guess. I'm Catholic, but the girl I'm most interested in right now is very much an atheist. Meh, I guess it's easier for some people to not think about religious issues when dating than others.

Death the same goes to you. I don't care about your exception. You weren't the case I was providing a hypothetical for.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahJust sayin' I doubt the vast majority of people who identify as Christian (particularly teenage ones) are going to see stuff like that as an issue when dating. It's not the 1920s anymore when a Jewish girl and an Italian guy wouldn't be caught dead together. (Hypothetical example)

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Faith being an issue in romance is a thing with me and Weiss. We don't get into fights over it or anything but there are talks. Talks about what my end goal is going to be. Namely letting her go and leaving the world. She's fine with my faith and in fact supports it, but it's hard on her at times. I go through periods of taking the Eight Precepts which means that I can't idly talk with her and were she around me she couldn't so much as hug me let alone have sex with me.
I love her dearly and she knows that. I treasure our relationship and view it as highly important because it is so temporal and so short and she knows that. Yet at the end I must let go and keep walking. Till I reach the Other Shore.
^^I'm stating that your input was useless.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahOdd1: Not an issue of what she sees as an issue. It's something I can't get over.
Squadron: Well, whoop-de-do. I'm glad that your faith is abstract enough that you can "guess" what it is and still be devoted to it, and yoj've found the most open-minded Christian girl ever. However, we aren't the same person, and your girlfriend isn't the same person as every other girl, either. You're also in an online relationship, and- from experience- it's a lot easier to ignore shit when you're not physically seeing it every day. Basically, "I made it work" isn't really an applicable statement here.

Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-@Exe: It could be that she's interested in you because you represent something different to the Christianity she's used to. She might be interested in moving away from it. /shrug/ Never know without asking.
"Lock up your girlfriends, lock up your wives, Grim's on the loose so run for your lives." - PyriteFaith is important for me too. Namely I need someone who gives as little of a crap about it as I do. I can see why Exe would have that issue. It must suck to encounter things like that.
