Can't we find something that's a little cleaner in the ketchup department than this?

You're asking for a more family-friendly example of someone being bisected?

^Hey, why not?

Something with Dr. Loveless from Wild Wild West may likely be as clean an example as we can get.

Bishop from Aliens. (goo and graphic, but no blood, since he's an android.)

or for completely non-gory, Miko from Order of the Stick — second to last panel)

This one has no blood, and a very famous example.

[1] this one is black and white but shows a little blood.

[up]OK, that last picute of Frieza (the one with Trunks) is a great one.

It shows the cut, and it shows what caused the cut.

^^I'll be honest and say that it took me a little while to fully realize what was going on... in both pictures.

The cut in the color picture wasn't entirely noticeable at first; the squat head that the robot has, at first, led me to believe that that was its neck, and it had just been decapitated.

The Frieza pic isn't clear at all. At first glance I thought he had a red stripe down his body. The Penny Arcade picture was far better.

[up] Way too much blood to keep it semi-work-safe.

Still, I think we can find something that's more outright obvious at first glance.

Like I already said, it took me a while to fully understand what I was looking at. The image does convey the trope, but I don't think it does it well enough for people unfamiliar with it to figure it out in a snap.

We can do better.

Nah, too gory for my tastes.

I think the Frieza pic is good enough to convey the trope, personnally. No real need to seek further.

Perhaps something like [1] or [2]. I'd put the dude up from google but that seems mean  *

A car is not an example of this trope...

Nightmare Face similarly does not show a face that fuels nightmares, I thought we could do something similar.

The "not nightmare face" is relevant to "nightmare face", though. The car isn't even sliced up because of an attack. This is about damage. It's not something similar.

So if I used the picture from the transformers movie of the car being sliced in half  *

that would be more appropriate?

I think so, yeah, but the title says "man", I think a good sliced-in-half-car image is probably inferior to a good sliced-in-half-man image.

Yes. At least he is man-shaped. And a sliced-up robot is guaranteed (well, sort of...) not to be gory. But it is weak for that reason and others, yes.

How about this one or that if I can find a larger one?
