Monster Hunter

Apologies if this is a dumb question, but did The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt get any Monster Hunter: World-related content for the collaboration? I heard that Final Fantasy XIV got the Rathalos, so I was curious if The Witcher 3 got something similar in exchange for putting the Leshen in World.

I don't think so.

Witcher 3 is pretty old at this point and I don't think it gets any more content updates.

Got to start preparing for the leshen fight. I've finally befriended the Gajalaka in preparation for a sidequest, so I should be able to complete all the sidequests in Geralt's mission.

There was a slightly different trailer for iceborne today. At the end of it, it shows the date 6/9/2019 and the roar that may sound familliar...

Beat the leshen, and also completed every sidequest in Geralt's mission. Geez, that took a while.

Leshen was a pretty fun fight, even if the Bleed ailment was really annoying. I will eagerly anticipate the arrival of the ancient leshen.

Got to say, I really liked Geralt's interactions with the Monster Hunter: World cast. Hearing him say words like "Gajalaka" and "Pukei-Pukei" was also gold.

I gave the Ancient Leshen a couple of tries, way back when it first landed, but after wiping after only a few minutes each time, it got annoying.

Feeling again like I should get back into this game, and not just for the obvious reason.

geralt speaking monster hunter language is deeply disconcerting to me.

Just beat the Ancient Leshen for the first time. You people weren't kidding when you said it was a long fight.

I didn't get a Mutagen from the thing, but at least I can be content that I killed one.

I feel like I want to try that again, but the curbstomping I received the first couple of times was very discouraging.

Tried Arch Nergi for the first time yesterday. Doesn't seem so tough, unless you get hit by one of his big attacks, in which you're toast. Didn't manage to get a kill in three attempts; sooner or later someone, or three someones, get unlucky and get flattened.

Okay, got ancient leshen down tonight. Still gotta farm for it but we got the fashion sets.

He reaaaaaally pissed us off so one of us switched from bowgun to gunlance, and oooooooooooooooh boi did he got his stomped to oblivion.

I really, really like this finish photo◊ It's like two people from the nasuverse are throwing so many shit at the screen you can barely tell that I'm in the middle pounding the leshen's face.

Congratulations. I myself don't think I have enough materials to craft all the Leshen gear yet, so I'll be hunting more Ancient Leshens later.

The hunt where I killed my first Ancient Leshen was one I thought was not going to go well, since my teammates didn't bring the boulder down on the Leshen as the opening move. However, we worked together pretty well, with constant applications of the Health Booster, flash-bombing the crazed Jagras, and making sure to free whoever got caught by the twisting roots.

I did find it kind of funny that whenever the Ancient Leshen prepared to unleash the Birdemic, about three or four flash bombs would go off at once, sometimes one after another.

Just killed another Ancient Leshen today. Best part was carving two Mutagens in a row from its corpse.

Finally.

After 1200 hours I am finally done with crown hunting; if I see another Kushala before Iceborn launches it'll be too soon.

There's a new Iceborne story trailer out. There's a surprise at the end, and we're pretty sure it can only be one monster: Glavenus.

Geez, Tigrex vs. Odogaron looks brutal.

Hoping that Glavenus's presence (assuming I'm not mistaken) means that we can fight Gammoth as well.

Really hoping that Deviljho gets Turf Wars with both the Tigrex and Glavenus. Maybe they can have one of the Turf Wars be Glavenus swinging that giant tail at Deviljho, only for Deviljho to grab it in its mouth and snap off a giant piece of it. No, I'm not bitter that cutting Glavenus's tail feels more tedious than most other monsters.

Japan published a few videos at a time showing off some of the new things weapons can do in Iceborne, and the English side of the Monster Hunter promotional team rolled those into 3 videos with a brief vocal explanation for what's new.

From what Capcom's write up of their E3 schedule says at the bottom it sounds like we might be getting another trailer with more info Thursday.

So it seems that the new Ice village is going to take the cake, since presumably it's going to have all the amenities of Astera with none of the 'Walk for half a minute just to get from the tree to the canteen' problems Astera itself has.

If it has Everything a hunter needs in one convenient spot, I'm never leaving.

I would say there's nothing wrong with astera, but then I remembered that I have a mod that lets me use the elevator right off from the starting point in astera, and another one that puts every important facility in the gathering hall. they really fucked up on that part.

I didn't expect there to be a new hub, hadn't thought about it, but I'm glad there is, because yeah, the current hub is pretty bad.

I REALLY LIKE astera. It was really great for the first hundred hours.

but man am I glad seliana isn't going to be as sprawling.

Wonder what other Iceborne monsters will end up challenging the apex monsters of each region. So far we have Nargacuga vs. Rathalos and Tigrex vs. Odogaron. Wonder if anything new will challenge the Diablos, Legiana, or Nergigante.

Where did you see that Nargacuga vs. Rathalos fight?
