It is whacking people with a giant, magic, explosive drumset.

It is glorious.

I was recently in a nerg hunt with two hammer bros and I almost felt bad for the spiky boy cuz he went down once in the starting area and never got back up

A lot of crossovers that try to do more than just show off cameos from other another game feel like a square peg getting forced into a round hole but from what I've seen of the MHW/Witcher crossover they two are actually similar enough that they fit together pretty well already. It's not perfect and tonally they're pretty different, but it's better than him in Soul Calibur for sure.

Which is weird because soul calibur is a world wirh magic and monsters but nowhere near as much magic is involved, whereas all the "magic" in MH comes from rhe monsyers themselves

Soul Calibur's a fighting game, though, and his Soul Calibur appearance is a little off in my opinion.

Geralt's appearance in Monster Hunter is basically a small slice of what his game is like, and while I'm not super familiar with Witcher I watched some quests from it on youtube and they mostly nailed the writing and tone. It's a bit lighter and there's no real consequences for the Leshen showing up like there is in Witcher, but it's a better representation of what Geralt and his series is about than SC was.
