August.

It'll be offline and around forever just like Rathalos in XIV.

They're finally giving us... a date that they'll give us details on the PC version of World.

One month from now. Preorder on Steam, get bonus armor and charm DLC, system specs on Capcom's site, and likely the Steam page.

The Behemoth gives you Dragoon armor? Hell yes. cool

Seriously, though, just the prospect of fighting an Behemoth MH-style is exciting. I haven't played FFXIV, so I'm not expecting to understand the references to that particular installment, but I like Final Fantasy in general.

Also, crystal-chucking Kulu is an amusing concept.

Not really much in the way of references to get, so far. The Kuli-Ya Ku with the Aetheryte (a crystal that lets you warp to a town you've already visited) is pretty great, though. Hoping it has more than a couple of new attacks.

I bet they decided on the Dragoon armor because it's the one gender dimorphic artifact set from ARR.

I was hoping for the Warrior of Light's armor, personally. Dragoon works, though.

In the context of FFXIV, 'Warrior of Light' isn't a particular character like it is in FFI, or at least how it's become now in the likes of Dissidia. It's the player character, which can of course be whatever the player wants it to be.

I don't see why the armour used in Monster Hunter: World couldn't have been any armour from FFXIV though. I think Dragoon makes the most thematic sense though, in FFXIV they were dragonslayers.

I get that. I just really dig the character Warrior of Light's look, and given that they were already an amalgamation of different potential warriors of light, it made some sense to me. Plus his helmet has very behemoth-esque horns. Plus Braveheart would be a dope sword and board.

The Behemoth is an MMO boss complete with a threat table, and if you don't have a dedicated tank to hold its attention you'll be in trouble when it uses an attack that is otherwise completely unavoidable and will cart everyone instantly. Definitely on the gimmicky side.

Aw, darnit. I've been playing MHW all summer off and on and I completely missed that there was more to the Summer Event than just buying fireworks. And now I'm on the last day, so I have to rush to get anything.

Granted, the extent to which I have to rush is diminished by the fact that I'm too low level to do most of the stuff anyway.

...What exactly do the event fireworks do? I haven’t played during the summer one, but I wasn’t sure if the spring ones did anything besides look pretty.

Hashil Since: Aug, 2010

Exactly that: they look pretty, unless the summer fireworks are the equivalent to the spring event's currency for crafting the exclusive gear.

I was going to post this in the "Things you didn't know until very recently" thread, but I think it's more relevant here: I have just noticed that, in all games from the second generation, subspecies can be found in all ranks, even low. You can even make armors out of them! They're identified with letter D, just like their High Rank versions are identified with letter U, and G Rank with letter Z. It makes me wonder why later games dropped this.

I also noticed that Pink Rathian and Azure Rathalos are absent in Portable 3rd, even though Gold and Silver are still there. Really weird, so it means their only presence in the third generation is in 3 Ultimate.

Behemoth update is live. Anyone else going for it?

I'll give it a couple tries with solo LS but if that doesn't work I have a pretty good SnS medic (standard immortality setup + maxed mushroomancer and wide range) set ready to go and will be looking for a team.

Nevermind; I cleared the repel quest solo but lost all desire to ever fight that thing again; it's not even difficult it just creates so many cyclones and meteors you can never actually attack it leading to a 30 minute quest of pure frustration.

It's a huge gimmick more than anything, yeah. Its janky animations in particular making it unfun to fight.

Ranthanos is in Smash Bros. Ultimate as both a boss and an assist trophy

Rathalos being in Super Smash Bros. is pretty neat.

This is probably not happening, but I want a fighting stage based on the Old Fortress Ruins (or whatever it gets localized as) from Generations Ultimate. Complete with the Ahtal-Ka in the background picking up all sorts of debris and throwing them at the stage. And of course, she'll also occasionally summon the mecha to become the new stage.

I want Bazel and Deviljho to show up and have a turf war whenever Rathalos isn't around.

And when he is Jho uses him like a club the way he does most smaller monsters.

Monster Hunter: World is out on PC. Seems like there are some game-crashing bugs right out of the gate.

Game's working pretty fine for me. The problems are all from the online because it's oversaturated, and from the fact it's fucking hot out there and my pc shuts down from overheat on a regular basis.

Is there any way to make me able to use scroll wheel to scroll through the consumables when I'm using ranged weapons? Since trying to scroll through it holding Q is 1: annoying to click left/right mouse button repeatedly, and more importantly, 2: if I try to move, it show this weird circle selection thing that I don't know how to use...

Give me cute or give me...something?

It should be physically possible, as it is at least on the PS 4 and Xbone versions, though your current keybinding combination might not make it comfortable or feasible.

Finally got World yesterday. I think one of the funniest bits is ordering a veggie platter and seeing the cooks pull out a fish and a slab of meat.
