^ it's discriminatory.
Still, atleast the guild sweetheart makes the village more entertaining.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Well it takes a more trained eye to know when they're ready for capture, or the proper Skills. It's easy to keep wailing on them, it's harder to know when to stop and try for the capture. Especially since you only ever get three tries in any given mission, unless you're online.
I have a message from another time...Capture difficulty really depends on whether or not the monster is a Flunky Boss. I hate getting bitten in the ass by Jaggi while lining up a tranq bomb, while fighting a Barroth. Why are you helping it?
They assed first. I am only retaliating in an ass way. -The Dead Man's Life^ Well, think about it. What's more dangerous? The Barroth that is going to maybe eat one or two jaggi a day at most, or the hairless ape that shows up, proceeds to kill and skin everything in a 5 km radius, not to mention taking all the herbs and bugs at the bottom of the food chain. And then does it again roughly every fifty minutes.
Jaggis are just attacking the larger threat.

Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listDown goes Uragaan. I need a few more shells for the armor. Easy enough to hit him but the fight takes forever for me for some reason. Does he just have a ton of health or am I maybe hitting the wrong part (usually the base of the tail since that seems soft and is easiest to consistently hit without leaving self in a dangerous spot)
I really need some help here. You see...I want the guild bard armor, because it's absolutely pimpin'. It also has some damn fine skills. The problem is, everyone hates the arena, myself included. Seriously, it's...I don't know what it is about the place that irritates me so much. Maybe it's just that I've been forced to solo the arena because no one uses it online and the selection of monsters is limited to three and it never fucking cycles to something different so it's impossible to actually get all the coins I need for the set online! AUGGHH.
Alright, I don't actually know what I want. Since there is no uragaan or barioth in the online arena at the moment, I can't even get those coins online. The best I could do is grind the arena forever until I get a few pinnacle coins (which are rare as fucking shit, yet you need one for every single piece), and maybe more lagiacrus and peco coins, cause I need more of those too.
Finally got some new monsters in the arena. I joined an arena city (the only one in the entire city gate), and after a while, this guy with HR 71 joins. The difference between playing with a bunch of dumb pubbies and playing with a skilled hunter are absolutely astounding. Of the new fights, we took on uragaan, and one where you have to fight a barroth, barioth, and rathalos (thankfully not all at the same time). We managed to A-rank uragaan, and won the other fight on the first attempt.
I daresay the arena is actually fun when you're playing with a guy who knows what he's doing. We save each other from sleep/stun/all that fun stuff. We pick equipment sets that compliment one another. When I roll out sleep, or traps, he knows to drop bombs. He knows how to use dung bombs. He can nail rathalos with flash bombs. It's just an incredible experience.
I also killed an uragaan with a pit trap/barrel bomb combo. That was pretty satisfying. I'm now missing only two items in the guild bard set.
In other news, I'm also an elite hunter now. I probably won't be getting any plus armor for quite a while, though, cause that stuff needs way too many materials. :x

I did a little research and it seems the only thing I could have done better is aim for the belly rather than the tail. Though maybe I'll invest in LBB+'s for Uragaan, since it's a pain in the butt to break the chin otherwise, and he can't do the long roll if the chin's broken.
I have a reasonable stack of LBB+ and tons of scatterfish from fishing trips anyway, and it only takes slightly more than two LBB+ (sans bombardier) to break the chin in that offline solo hunt quest anyway. So one pit trap and some bombs could shorten the fight significantly.
Hey, how effective would it be if you do nothing but stock up on as many poison bullets as possible when facing off against the Uragaan?
How many poison ammo does it usually take to poison it?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I'm not sure the maximum amount of poison ammo + materials you could carry, but poisoning does a set quantity of damage. You wouldn't be able to kill it with poison alone, and each subsequent poisoning would take more shots to take effect. That said, Uragaan is one of the most vulnerable to poison of all the monsters so it certainly doesn't hurt to have poison on top of the usual pierce or whatever you use as a gunner.
Offline Arena / ★3 水の闘技場の決戦 (Main Rewards 1) / x1 : 25% (fixed)
Probably it's a paired monster challenge or something, since I don't really do the offline arena.
EDIT: Which is to say, I don't know how te offline arena works exactly, so I dunno how you get the special arena challenges or whichever one that one is. Judging by You Tube, it's Lagiacrus and Gobul together.

Okay, what the hell.
I was just testing out the bowgun, so I went to the arena and I wanted to see if I can paralyze the Royal Ludroth...
I shot him with nearly all of my paralysis shot (the first one missed), and he STILL didn't get paralyzed!!
Do they honestly expect me to hit the R.Ludroth with all 10 or so paral shot in order to just paralyze him once?
Is it worth the effort? How come I can't paralyze him even hitting him that many times in his sac?
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."

You mean that little goblin man? He's not that annoying...the only person that bugs me in Moga Village is...the ugly fat woman...the fish mongress. Why couldn't they have made someone better looking, and I need to go talk to her every few days too.
Also I need to ask...if I flipped the gigginox over, and then if I place a bunch of bombs next to it, will the explosion hurt it's chest? Or should I just do a single super pound with my hammer?
Still....trying really really hard to get that goddamn fearsome maw.
PS-what's the easiest to acquire POISON weapon? The only one I can think of is the Sn S that you get from upgrading that Assasin Blade or whatever.
