Post 39: I'd prefer it if all tropers gained some security with themselves. Hell, from what I've noticed, the girls have actually been a little more secure than some of the male tropers. This kind of worries me. Not because the girls need to be more insecure, but because it shows that some of the male tropers are just that insecure.
Keep in mind, this may have something to do with the sampling bias, since the male-to-female ratio on these forums is definitely skewed.

"True story, I came when I read Scrye's story, and so did everyone within five miles." —OOZEFirstly, Man Up is less of a mouthful than "people here need to stop making threads in which they bitch about insignificant problems that could be solved by getting thicker skin or making a statement,"
I know not everyone here is like me; that's not the issue. What bothers me is when people decide to make a thread and complain about something that's really not that serious if you take a step back and look at it. That being said I do my best to give the OP relevant advice; most of the time it consist of them opening their mouth and telling somebody how they feel.
It only starts to piss me off when said OP decides to either ignore the advice or make excuses for themselves. If you're asking for help why would you turn around and ignore the people who wanted to help you? When the information and skills to succeed at your task are in front of you and yet you fail to take advantage of them for fear of leaving your comfort zone, I lose faith in you.
@Josef Bugman: What did the 2nd case study entail?
^^Fair point. I'm just on Live Journal and dear Gooood, the whining and wank will drive you insane. But I would hope it's only a Vocal Minority of guys here that think they deserve to have a girlfriend and are upset because they haven't.

^ I'm driven less insane by the whining and more insane by the strawmanning and bile against said whining.

"Wax on, wax off..." "But Mr. Miyagi, I don't see how this is helping me do Karate..." "Pubic hair is weakness, Daniel-san!"I was pondering a post and then decided not to, but then the words at the top told me I was about to settle this thing.
HOW CAN I POSSIBLY REFUSE THAT.
...
...Yeah, aye and whatnot. Well, actually, wait. First I need to whine about hair getting messy when I wake up in the mornings because IT IS RUINING MY LIFE and people just keep telling me "lol brush ur hair" but they don't get me and and and
So it's actually an aye I am withholding for later. An Aye O. U..

"People are calling me stupid on the internet."Would it have been as badass if instead his leg had developed gangrene, and he had died of blood poisoning?
@OP — You're doing this wrong. Creating an association for manly men doesn't make men any more likely to be manly; it just creates a refuge for people who're uncomfortable with the current standards of masculinity, probably because they haven't been successful under them.
You want to be a man? Go out and be a man. Kill a fish bigger than you. Drive an ambulance in a major war. Develop crippling alcoholism. Popularize polydactylism in cats. Eventually eat a shotgun.

I will keep my soul in a place out of sight, Far off, where the pulse of it is not heard.Joseph: I have no idea how that example had any relevance to your point. That guy actually sounds badass.

"True story, I came when I read Scrye's story, and so did everyone within five miles." —OOZE...Hemingway popularized polydactylic cats?
No, wait, he didn't drive an ambulance, he was a demolition man or something
