"It's a long story, but I'll give you the short version. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a ninja when I grew up. After high school, I flew to Japan, climbed up Mount Fuji, and found and enrolled in the secret ninja academy at the top. After my training was done, I came back to America and became a PI."
"Hmmm... well I guess there's some advantages to being a ninja. Like that teleportation trick you do. But aren't Ninja the ones the law are supposed to be catching? Ninja are assasssins."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing." Well you learn something new everyday. Me I resort to a hand-me-down car to get everywhere. And with my current success rate that isn't going to change soon."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."I wonder if I could ask Kyle for a loan. I'm still working from my mother's apartment. It would be nice to open up my own law office."
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Hmm? Oh, but of course! That card! It is so similar to hees name, eet ees funny! You see, his name is Jack Oliver Spades, or Jack O. Spades! It is funny, no?" The frenchwoman giggled a little.
Jae nodded. Well, at least the witness wasn't lying... yet. Still, her original story seemed intentionally vague... Was she hiding anything more?
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereAbraham nodded. With a name like that, you pretty much had to gamble, he made a mental note of that. "So, let me see if I've got this down proper." He said, putting down his deck of cards. "The defendant left earlier in the night, Mr. Spades arrived at 10, and the two of you left 10 minutes later. At this point, only the victim was left in the house. Am I correct so far?"
Liveblog | Deadblog"Not quite. Monsieur Swornhield arrived at dze point we left, so dzey were both in dze house," Fran said, matter-of-factly. Jae perked up a little when Fran mentioned the defendant, at which point her hand gripped tighter on Abe's shoulder.
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereAbraham nodded, as calmly as he could. This could be major good news for his case. "So." He said. "You can place him on the scene around the time of the murder?" It occurred him that he probably had to contact the crime scene guys before the trial. Sure, witnesses were fine and all, but he still didn't trust this, admittedly beyond gorgeous French maid, one hundred percent.

Liveblog | Deadblog"Oui, Monsieur Kyle was at dze scene at the time of dze crime," Fran said. Jae still didn't like how she said that...
"Can you prove that?" Jae asked distrustfully.
"But of course! I'm sure you have seen dze security cameras, no? Dzey must have caught Kyle's car on tape," Fran said,matter-of-factly.

Hey! Read my fanfic: HereAbraham frowned, this seemed borderline too easy. Then again, every now and then, things that seemed to easy could actually be easy. "We have not seen the surveillance tapes, but rest assured we'll look into that. " He took a short pause to get his thoughts back in gear proper. "Let's see... Oh yes, I understand that there's a safe, possibly hidden, in the mansion. Am I correct?"
Liveblog | DeadblogFran looked genuinely surprised for a moment, then regained her composure. "A safe? In my year of working for Mademoiselle Swornhield, I've heard not of dzis safe..." She said.
"GOTCHA!" Jae said suddenly, "Your voice quivered for a second there, when you said 'not'! You knew of the safe, didn't you?"
"M-Maybe... But what does dzis have to do widz dze case?!" Fran said, flustered. Jae had her.
"We need truth, and the whole truth, Ms. Chevalier! How did you know of the safe? We believe Kyle was searching for it," Jae said. For an idol trainee, she was sure acting professional... But for what reason?
"...I overheard Mademoiselle Swornhield talk to Kyle about it..." She said, sighing, "I looked for it briefly, about two days ago, but I didn't find it..."
Jae nodded. "Okay then...."
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereAbraham nodded and picked up his cards again. "I take it you don't know the contents of this safe then?" There hadn't been any big upsets in the case so far, save Fran pinpointing the defendant at the murder scene and the addition of a new face to the Dramatis Personae. Now that he thought about it, that was kind of big. Not dramatic, but big.
Liveblog | Deadblog"Moi? Why would I know of this?" Fran said, almost innocently.
"You're avoiding the question," Jae said, annoyed.
"I do not know what exactly is in the safe," Fran said, matter-of-factly. Jae nodded, nothing seeming wrong... yet.
Hey! Read my fanfic: Here"We had no idea dzat dzere was a safe of any kind," Fran said, thoughtfully, "But if I were to wager a guess based on the conversation I heard, whatever Kyle was to inherit was in dzat case..." Jae nodded again, hearing no lying tones come from Fran.
Hey! Read my fanfic: Here"So any idea Alex-Nin? I have no clue when the prosecution will finish with Fran.'
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."No, I think we're finished for today. We'll get the paperwork for you ready by tomorrow," Jae said, turning to walk out of the interrogation room. She really didn't want to see this witness again, if she were to be honest... Something still didn't quite add up about her story, but she couldn't put her finger on it. But she decided that it was probably trivial and not relevant to the case... or really, she hoped.
Hey! Read my fanfic: HereAbraham rose. "Well, au revioir, Ms. Chevalier, we'll get to the bottom of this yet." He said before he left the same way as Jae. The day was starting to become one of those awfully long ones, and he still had work to do. That couldn't be helped, though, this was his first case, and he wasn't going to skimp on the preparation.
Liveblog | DeadblogShe went over to the police station and made an attempt at talking to Fran. But the police told her to mind her own business.
She knew that the culprit used the hose to wipe the weapon clean, but she needed some kind of proof that the hose was the weapon. She decided the best step was to re-examine the supposed crime scene.
The lawn chair was still lying by the edge suspiciously. After raking another shot of the scene she moved the chair to the side. She noticed that the grass was Yellowed by the abscense of sunlight, indicating that it had been there a while. But something was off.
"Alex-Nin. I know you're still following me. There's something off about the grass.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing."Abe... Are you sure we can trust this witness?" Jae asked after they had left Fran's earshot, "I mean... her testimony was rather vague. It'd be rather easy for the defense to rip holes through it... Shouldn't we get one more witness before court, just in case?"

"There's one thing I've gotta ask you. What's with the whole Ninja thing?"
She knew there were a lot of bizzarre things that happennd in the courts but wasn't a detective posing as an assassin a bit much.
