^^ Well, remember, Zurg's voice is heavily processed. In Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command, he doesn't sound like Wayne Knight either.

Yeah, he was The Other Darrin for the Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command series. I actually prefer his voice, since it was so over the top and awesome, but YMMV.

I haven't seen the animated series in about ten years, so I don't know how they compare.

B Lo SC was pretty awesome, though its characterization on Zurg was way more wide-open than TS 2, and the LG Ms have no real logical reason to be tied into the Buzz franchise. However, these are funny enough to get a pass from me.

See, I always thought the LGM were an aspect of the Pizza Planet franchise, like the Frylings for Mc Donalds, or the characters on Chuck E. Cheeses'. I just can't see them as being related to Buzz.

Wait, what? I haven't seen the newest movie, but nothing I saw from the first two implied that the LGM are Pizza Planet mascots.

Also, Frylings?

IIRC, the LGM have the Pizza Planet logo on their shirts.

Never saw Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command, but you could handwave their association with Buzz as part of a merchandiseDriven Tie-in campaign.

Been loving what Boom! Studios has been doing with the Pixar licenses. Especially Incredibles.

I loved how Pixar took the "Talking Animal" cliche and made it actually work in Up.

I'm only double posting to bump this

I watched the pilot, and I wasn't too impressed with it...until Zurg came in.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a villain have SO MUCH FUN being evil.

So, any thoughts on Cars 2 yet? I'm still wondering when the teasers going to come out.

I'm still pissed that the trailer for the original Cars looked like it was going to be A Bug's Life 2.

Don't know enough about Cars 2 to form an opinion yet. I enjoyed the first one, but can't think of what they could do with a sequel.

Yeah, that was just cruel. I was so freaking excited.

I have utmost confidence in Cars 2 being good. Not so confident it'll be Toy Story 3 good though.

^thats pretty funny, considering how many people thought that Toy Story 3 was going to suck, majorly.

Honestly, I was never a mega huge fan of Cars (unlike how I am with every single other Pixar flick), but I didn't think it was a bad film. The whole thing was pretty much a So Okay, It's Average, not great, not horrible, just kind of in the middle. And even though I know this isn't the reason, I still kind of feel that they're only making a Cars 2 strictly because of all the merchandise it brings in.

That being said, I'm really really hoping this movie is at least better than the original. Pixar should get it awesome the second time.

I loved Cars, but I don't know how well that premise could work. It's Pixar so I'm expecting it'll be decent at the least, but I don't know. I didn't think UP sounded great, but I was happily wrong.

I'm more looking forward to Monsters Inc 2. If they have any sense they'll just continue were they left off!

Cars is a combination Cash-Cow Franchise and a Creator's Pet, so yeah...

I'll probably forgo it. In addition to not liking it much, I associate Cars with a rather... odd period of my life.

I dunno. I'm disappointed they're making another, as I think it's just a merchandising thing myself, but I have faith in Pixar that they'll make it good. I seem to remember someone from the studio saying they only make sequels if they feel as though the plot of the sequel is as good as or better than the plot of the original movie. And with Cars it's frankly not too difficult to come up with something better.

Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember them, you are not alone.
