One of the examples given in the screenshots was Dorothea getting a skill called "white magic healing +20" for learning white magic.
Hubert got a skill called "water lance" from lances, but it's less clear what that does.

Possibly it gives him an advantage against enemies using Fire magic? Or perhaps there's some sort of elemental rock paper scissors in play.
Looking at the story details, I really have to wonder if IS set out to remake Genealogy but had so many new gameplay ideas they decided to make a whole new game.
Calling it now, Hubert's a merman.
Hmmm, yeah, with the amount of FE4 elements integrated, I wonder if seeing fandom reaction to those features might be them testing the waters to see if Jugdral remakes are worth it.
As to Water Lance, I know Heroes ties several Res-boosting skills to water (Torrent Dance and its hybrid ilk; plus Water Boost). I'm guessing it'll probably be like that, though hopefully a bit more reliable than Water Boost (which gives +6 Res for having more HP than the enemy, so the more one needs it, the less likely it is to be there...). Perhaps it could be a Combat-Arte-like action, a la Valentia's Defensive/Pavise/Earth's Kiss.
Translation on the school section.
There's currently a big "leak" going around on Reddit, which a lot of people are believing but honestly sounds way too good to be true from the hardcore fan perspective to me. It's claiming that there's tons of dark stuff in the plot like Dimitri's "darkness" being PTSD from watching his entire family get slaughtered, the three nations go to war and you have to kill students from the houses you don't choose, and people with crests are mutated into those Dark Beasts and need to be put down.
Sounds about right.
One the "leaks" is apparently this (copy-pasting from Serenes Forest):
Gay pairings will be a thing, with Edelgard, Sothis and Dorothea being romanceable by Female Byleth
It would be awesome if such a thing was true, though I'm just a tad skeptical since I've been rooting for Female Byleth being able to pair up with Edelgard and Dorothea, and it's sounding just a little too specific and good to be true.
Still hoping it's true though.

Still a bit iffy seeing as this is a student/teacher relationship.
One of the leaks is also saying that Claude can become a bow-wielding wyvern knight. I don't know how true it is, but I hope he has a critical attack where he jumps up and unloads a bunch of arrows into the enemy while upside-down.
I think Fates might've had a crit animation like that, but I could be remembering wrong.
I think that's the crit animations for adventurers. They jump backwards in a cartwheel and fire an arrow while upside down.
I believe that's actually just their second attack animation from when they double, so no crit required to get it.
As far as bows on a Wyvern, I don't see why that wouldn't be a thing. We already had Kinshi Knight in Fates and since students can carry their weapon proficiencies from one class to another, I think it'd probably be weirder if they didn't allow it.
I don't believe in the leak even a little bit. Especially with all this actual information coming out at the same time.
It mostly just sounds like grimdark nonsense to me. Apparently there's a five year time skip where Dimitri loses an eye and Edgelord becomes a ruthless "Ends justify the means" tyrant.

It begins... The time when the inevitable rumors pop up when the game's release is getting closer!
I really want the gay pairings to be a thing, but I'm taking this "leak" with a very large grain of salt. I'll believe it when I see actual proof that it's correct.
I'll just wait until official stuff comes out. Or the actual game.
So, for now, I'll avoid spoilers in the event they are truth. Don't want the surprise to be ruined.

So far, the only thing that it really has going for it is Thani's (the leaker's) good reputation in the community. There have been more credible people who posted fakes, though. The evidence will come when we get the names of the characters claimed to be Setes and Catherine, or the lords' promoted classes.
A lot of that stuff does sound pretty suspect, yeah, though there is one thing that I'd totally believe, because they've done it before.
"PTSD from watching his entire family get slaughtered" is basically Fernand again.
I won't hold my breath on leaks. Still, I'm getting a bit excited for Three Houses.
Blazing Blade Female-Only Run
More vendors, huh? Guess the game has a little faith in my run. Anyways, I was wondering what to do with Hector and Oswin when they show since they are useless to me. Eliwood and Rebecca are going to just park by the fort and fight off the initial wave of enemies. For most of the chapter, Rebecca is standing on the mountain to get a lot of evasion.
The boss begins moving and Hector and Oswin showed up. The shame that Serra isn't in the team right now... but the only aggressive one towards them is one soldier. Oswin picked up Hector and just stand by the top where no unit can reach them. I'm just going to let them have fun with a soldier that can't do any damage to Oswin while the two have each other's weapons.
Now, Eliwood and Rebecca are getting good stats to finally one-round and double the enemies. But the strategy remains the same, Eliwood is standing by the fort to take the front while Rebecca pick off the stranglers. A good thing that Eliwood crit the boss so that it's one less round to deal with him. It's funny that Eliwood is now taking no damage from the Mercenaries.
With the enemies gone and the only one left are the one near Hector's spot, Rebecca went to the village to get the Secret Book and run back to Eliwood's position near the Armory. They are going to get another Iron Sword and Bow. The battle begins and the enemy aren't aggressive, just wait until someone is in range. We finished off the rest of the enemies and the map is over.

Japanese Fire Emblem Twitter has Felix's profile up, by the way.
Serenes Forest translation of the full article.
Nothing in the leak is too out of the ordinary for Fire Emblem. Killing playable characters was fairly commonplace in Fates, and human experimentation was in both Tellius and the Awakening DLC (and this time the darker consequences seem to be the result of failure rather than the goal). Corrin, Azura, Micaiah and Rudof all did bad things for noble goals. If this seems worse than any of those it's just because it's contrasted with the extremely cheerful school setting we've seen so far. A big shakeup partway through the story would go a long way towards explaining why they've been so tightlipped about what the central conflict is. A lot of it seems suspiciously geared towards /r/fireemblem's tastes, but the leaker has at least been clever enough to not seem too obvious about it (if it's fake) by sprinkling in some things that would not go over very well at all with the sub; like toned down skinship, romanceable students and Sothis and supposedly subpar maps.
Edit: The four routes thing also seems suspiciously ambitious, but this game has "overambitious" written all over it, what with getting delayed twice and a lot of the assets still looking subpar.

If I may throw my hat into this... I get the feeling that this leak is fake, I dunno. I get this feeling due to the leak looking like it catters to those that want a more "Serious"/"Dark" story. If that is a good way to put it.
Most of the Fates leaks were accurate. But you got ones that were blatantly false.
People start doing thst now. Give real leaks and put bs ones inbetween. Like Sakura being killed by Faceless, when this was clearly Lilith who does get killed by Faceless in front of her brosis.
