So, I've been wondering if the Hot Spring has any actual gameplay purpose other than making my Avatar an Accidental Pervert. Every time I've gone in there, I've encountered a female character and gotten chased out.

The biggest draw of the Hot Springs is that, once you grow it to Level 3, you can recruit Izana in Birthright and Conquest, or Fuga in Revelation. Other than that, no other gameplay purpose other than just seeing characters interact with each other.
Fun fact: if your Avatar is married and their spouse happens to be in the Hot Springs when your Avatar walks in, they won't run out of the Hot Springs.
That's probably a question best answered by the people behind the localization.

"I squirm, I struggle, ergo I am. Faced with death, I am finally, truly alive."Ah, I see.
On another note, am I the only one who thinks the generic unit portraits in this game are way too cool-looking to be just random units? I capture some and use them just because I like their designs.
I'm actually basing future Fire Emblem OCs off of the captured units I've found so I can imagine personalities for these units I'm way to devoted to training.
I don't think Effie's changed as much as people make her out to be. And I can get why she'd be less sweet and fluffy when she's, y'know, fighting.
Bewitching EyesI think most people's issues are her supports make her seem more like a Dumb Jock when in the Japanese version she was drastically different.
Also: The Contralto Of Danger Effie's got going on is way too deep. Like, I legit thought that was a case of Cross-Dressing Voices and that she was voiced by a dude until I found out she's voiced by Marisha Ray (Oboro and Mikoto) and I'm like "what"
Speaking of Wolf-related things, the implementation of the Wolfguard in FE12 was also rather strange. The recruitment chain was clever, but making them inexplicably all weaker than their own Mooks, who will, naturally, try to cut them to pieces as soon as they defect, just seemed like Fake Difficulty to me.
So...
Guess which idiot is still playing Awakening and trying to beat Apotheosis?
This idiot.
Finally got back to it.
Lot one person on the second part due to a stupid move.
Lost more people on the third part with the archers due to those damned archers having counter (I should have Mired them as quickly as possible, but I didn't, choosing to focus on the Tricksters instead, and that cost me).
I got to the fourth part, took out the Falcon knights to reduce the healing, and only had one mage to take out, but he kept living, and had really low health, so he was able to activate Vengeance and wipe out anyone who got close to him.
Eventually I let Chrom get a bit too close to the action and he died.
So I suck. I think I know how to do better. I'm so close.
It's a few days until my birthday (and my Avatar's). I want to put this game away as a present to myself, since I have no money to buy ANY games I wanted at all.
Maybe, one day I'll catch up to the rest of you and actually start Fates as well.
One Strip! One Strip! So on the subject of the Awakening, going through the script, Gangrel is actually not motivated by the previous war at all contrary to popular belief, his true motive was to unite against Valm.
RE Konk Fan 7: I love the captured units too, I'm even raising regular generics for the heck of it. I wish the bosses at least got more lines, though.
RE Hamburger Time: Oftentimes on the Lunatic difficulty, recruitable units are recognized for how much weaker they are to the books around. Take Astram, and his significantly more powerful Mook underlings. As for an Elibe remake, FE 6 definitely gets changed the most both in terms of plot, and gameplay.
RE Ekimmak: The portrait for generic units often isn't accurate, especially after promotion. Most oddly generic outlaws sudden wear their hoods down after conversion.

I've actually played the remake, and it is pretty fun. I will agree that it seemed like the Avatar wasn't as implemented as well as they were in Fire Emblem: Awakening and Fire Emblem Fates, but I didn't really have a problem with them, and I rather liked the beginning chapters focusing on the 7th Platoon.
Still, I'm glad they had the Avatar system in the game, since it would pave way for the other playable Avatars, both characters I really liked.
