Yeah, I also like the Mercenary class tree best.

And Selena does indeed rock the quilted doublet better than.... whatever the armor was for Mercenaries in Awakening [lol]

Awakening femMercs wore a sleeveless knit sweater [lol]

And let's not get into Awakening Heroes and their ridiculous shields.

TBF though Awakening didn't have battle thongs not like half of the Nohrian class designs.

My headcanon is that Garon is FE's version of Aegon the Unworthy.

Except Xander is a mix of Daeron the Good (in terms of general temperament) and Daemon Blackfyre (in terms of being the favorite and getting the family heirloom sword)

My favorite class trees (referring to Fates) are either the Troubador family or the Knight family.

Besides Cavaliers losing swords, and Knights gaining an extra weapon like in the Tellius games, what other balance changes have you made?

Awakening does have battle panties. Just as much as Fates does. Basically all mounted classes,Knight/General except Troubadour/Valkyrie.

@Monsund: Nerfed Seth, buffed up Marisa and L'Arachel, changed up a lot of unit stats, weapons now are infinite use and have different uses (Silvers grant high Mt in exchange for -4 Def/Res and no critical hits, Killer weapons grant high crit in exchange for -2 Def/Res)

Fridge Logic ensues when you think of how much their legs must get scraped?

RE: Kinkajou

Any changes for Gilliam, Dozla, and Knoll, the latter probably needing it the most.

Some of the Magikarp Power characters could be buffed too, possibly? Ross's hidden class in the US version is just a worse version of the Berserker.

Gilliam has axe access and has 5 base move. The guy WILL do work for you early on.

Dozla has much better bases and actually has Speed.

Knoll... probably will buff him up a bit more. Around Level 15 with prorated bases.

RE: Kinkajou

Sounds good. I'll try to think of some buffs for Knoll as well.

Have you considered adding a new character? You can do so easily by giving a boss unique growth rates, then making them recruitable.

Some ideas I have are a recruitable Soldier, perhaps the one in Fort Rigiwald who was friends with Amelia. Or a Brigand/Pirate character. You could use the two portrait using generic bandits in the game as a base.

Also giving Necromancer access to all magic, and maybe having playable monsters in the postgame?

There's a relative dearth of armor-slaying weapons among enemies in this game, so the armored classes get less shit than they do in other games.

Effective weapons really aren't very common in most of the translated games at all and, in many of the cases where they do appear, not much of a threat. Like, in 7 and 8, the enemy stats are so bad and the weapons so ridiculously heavy, such that those enemies have a sign over their head saying, "Zero Attack Speed! Free kill!"

Path of Radiance's enemies also have pretty bad stats, though the Str vs Wt makes the weapons not quite completely obliterate their Attack Speed. Still, I don't recall any real problem placement aside from the pretty standard bows in places they don't want flier rush-downs to get into. Radiant Dawn has a couple tricky Hammer and crossbow placements, but paying any level of attention will weed them out pretty handily.

Shadow Dragon is a bit more liberal with them, but I haven't played it enough to say more than that.

In Awakening, Beast Killers are so rare that Panne, Yarne and Paladins/Dark Fliers/etc. generally aren't going to give a crap (C12 gets a little spammy and that's basically the extent of the weapon's presence). Hammers are present for a bit to discourage Fred overuse, but then they drop off the face of the earth. There's a couple Armorslayers, but it's hardly worth mentioning because not only are their frequency barely greater than the Beast Killers, but General and Great Knight are pretty poor classes, meaning the usual pool of character classes isn't gonna care. Wyrmslayers are even rarer such that Nowi, Nah and Wyverns should pretty much have no fear.

Fates throws them around a bit, but generally forgets that they exist. C5 has a bunch of Wyrmslayers, of course, but then the weapon basically disappears. Beast Killers, Hammers and Armorslayers make an appearance here and there, but from what I've seen, the only really notable places are Conquest 26, where the enemy just seems to be going crazy spamming each type to make up for all the other chapters; Conquest Endgame, where strategic placement makes wanton rushing pretty dangerous; Percy's paralogue, where the northern force has a handful clumped together and packing them; and Siegbert's paralogue, where they're part of the infinite reinforcements to make the map even trollier. I guess there's also Conquest 19 bringing Beastbane spam, but that's only Mt x2 over Mt x3, so only the Beaststone+ enemies are actually scary there (the regular Beaststone has a laughable 6 Mt, which means Beastbane makes it exactly as powerful as a... base Silver Sword).

So, does Corrin's A-Support Buddy Seal advantage with everyone work both ways? i.e if I get A-Support with Subaki while my talent is Monk, can I reclass him in to a Great Master?

Birthright Chapter 10: Ninja Village

This was a tricky map with all the spike traps. I did get some damage in on the enemies by having Hinoka activate them, and their threat to my party was more in restricting my movement options. I did a lot of pairing up this mission, and my Sky Knights were invaluable (though they still took damage from the ground spikes despite being airborne). Takumi also officially joined the party this mission, while Kagero joined after the fighting was over. In hindsight, I was lucky to have taken Azura on the mission. If she weren't there to break whatever spell Takumi was under, I might not have been able to recruit him, and would've lost a potential party member through no fault of my own.

I've also added a few more things to My Castle. I now have a trio of autonomous Puppet defenders, as well as a Hot Spring. So I went in there and was met by ... RINKAH! Needless to say, my Avatar quickly bolted. I'm also a bit confused by some things about Lilith. Her level cap is apparently higher than 20, even though some of her later levels were Empty Levels. I also saw from the beginning that she had a breath weapon rating, but no actual breath weapon to use.

Finally, while I found Setsuna grating at first, after seeing her C supports with Hinoka and Azama, she's grown on me. At first, I thought her voice actress was overacting the part of "ditzy sidekick" to the point of sounding outright brain-damaged, but after seeing the support conversations, the voice actually sounds appropriate now. And yet, they made her a lot more sympathetic to me. I hope to see Hinoka's promised cooking lessons pay off.

What does happen if you don't take Azura with you in Birthright 10? Or is she forced?

Dunno, but since Takumi is a major character in Birthright, I'm guessing he automatically joins after the mission even if you don't have Azura with you.

FYI, upgrading a puppet (any one) and the hot springs to level 3 unlock two secret characters.

And Setsuna is the best. You should marry your Corrin to her.

And Lilith can level up infinitely, though it stops keeping track at level 99. By that point she should have long since capped all her stats unless you fed her a horrendously misbalanced diet, however.

And the breath attack is irrelevant on Birthright; Birthright Liliths only get staff magic, Conquest Liliths only get breath attack, and Revelations Liliths get both.

Ah, crap. I'm gonna end up not using this Monk talent for anything.

My current Revelations playthrough is me starting on that project of making an online team based after my closest TVT friends, starting with myself. I married Felicia (she reminds me the most of my actual girlfriend, appearance and personality), who is currently murdering everyone as Great Lord, and I intend to reclass in to Butler and stay that way. Not sure if I'm gonna pick up Draconic Hex and/or Nohrian Trust...
