something something lobster joke
Funny thing is, between his hair and the name of his mask, I think Ryoma is meant to resemble a lion.

Bewitching EyesThe accessory shop calls it the Samurai Mask, and its description mentions a lion motif.
Bewitching Eyes- Camilla: Bear
- Hinoka: Ox
- Leo: Rat
- Takumi: Boar or Porcupine
- Sakura and Elise: Dog
Completed Prologue and Chapter 1 of Genealogy of the Holy War yesterday. Man, these maps are fucking big. Every chapter in this game would be like three chapters in any other Fire Emblem game.
- For those not in the know, to win you have to seize every enemy castle on the map. You lose if the Lord character dies or your home castle is seized by the enemy.
- Is this the only Fire Emblem game where negative Avoid is a thing? Must be due to having no weight buffer, but I thought that only affects Attack Speed...
- It just bugs me a little that you can't trade items/weapons to other units directly. You have to sell the item/weapon at the pawn shop in a castle and the other unit has to buy it back at double to price you sold it for. I guess this kind of works out because each unit has their own money, and having a regular trading system in a game like Genealogy would be kind of broken. Something I can get accustomed to, I guess...
- Only lovers can give each other money, but Thieves can give anyone their money. Good thing Dew is getting that fight money!
- Don't really care for Alec or Noish, but Lex is pretty awesome! Just got the Brave Axe for him right as I finished off Sandima, so his inventory is pretty loaded right now (Iron Axe, Steel Axe, Hand Axe, Brave Axe).
Enjoying it so far...Not really focusing on pairings for the moment, though I'm currently entertaining the thought of Lex/Ayra.

Enjoyment and Excitement!Ryoma and Xander are meant to be Lions according to the Making of Fire Emblem book. Camilla is a cow.
I think Elise and Sakura might be flowers.
Leo might be a vampire because of tomatoes and Halloween festival dlc.
Wouldn't be surprised if Takumi's a water dragon.
Hinoka's is air.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Hinoka's CG clearly shows that she is a helicopter. No, I don't care that that isn't actually an animal.
Yes, that much is obvious. It seems like the choice presented by the games isn't so much Hoshido vs. Nohr as much as fighting Garon through conventional warfare or as an Internal Reformist. And sure enough, this game is listed as an example there.
Anyway...
Birthright Chapter 4: Hoshido
Here, we meet my avatar's biological family, as well as taking on some Faceless. I liked the description of their Shackled Fists.
Too bad for them it proved false in the face of me and the Hoshidans.
Then there was the scene where I meet my opposite, Azura. Now that's going to be an interesting dynamic.
I guess if you really wanted to minmax with classes and children, you'd pick Oni Savage and marry Midori to get Apocatherapy. Picking Apocatherapy and marrying Rinkah would mean losing one of the children.
This is a really outdated reply, but I've had no internet access for three days straight.

So, still giving my OCs personal skills on their profiles, I gave one a skill that grants Dodge +10 if they have the weapon disadvantage and named it "Situationist" (this character is based off of a bond unit that got Lancebreaker for his personal skill, so that's how I got the idea). Thing is, I'm not so sure how I feel about the name. Anyone have any better name ideas?
Birthright Chapter 5: Mother
Well, a lot happened in this chapter...
The way they depicted Mikoto's death was absolutely heart-wrenching, but I have to admire its creators' ingenuity. It had Mikoto dying in my arms... from a first-person perspective... in 3D... on a handheld game system... It was like I was actually there holding her.
And my avatar's response to this drama; CORRIN SMASH! And smash we did! The dragon form proved powerful enough that I don't think even the Wyrmslayers some of the enemies were packing would've helped, but I gave them a wide berth just in case. And Azura turned out to be a singer who's capable of defending herself, as well. I had Rinkah spend most of the fight paired up with Kaze due to her weapon triangle disadvantage against most of the enemies this chapter. Anyway, we managed to reach Ryoma in time to heal his injuries from dueling with the boss, but then the boss took him out on the next turn. The turn after that, though, was my turn to lay the draconic smack down on him.
And the one other thing I learned from all this is that Takumi is a jerk.
The Mitsuki Oosawa manga of FE4 just got translated on Chapter 51. And oh God, dem feels, I'm actually having feels for even Reptor.
Don't make me even have feels for Hilda, Oosawa, please don't.
