Clarste, I share your disappointment in the severe lack of forced memes in the Touhou Fandom I kinda remember in one of the latest manga issues... there were so many hilarious facial expressions, all very meme-worthy.

So yeah, these WAAGHHH!! issues completely deliver on all the yeeeaaaars-long hype about what the finale of this manga could possibly be! This is genuinely more epic and intriguing than I ever could have imagined. It blows the kinda-weird Kosuzu-Finale out of the water!

So, in the end, Kasen really wanted to fight Reimu. Quite logical. Besides, becoming true friends with the shrine maiden after getting your skull cracked by her is a series tradition.

So...since Kasen returned to being an oni, is her days as a hermit over? If so, can she return to her secret base? And what of her beast-taming skills?

Now that I think about it, she's probably been holding back her desire to fight Reimu the entire run of the manga.

After dealing with Reimu for more than a few hours, let alone for a whole series, who wouldn't want to beat her up?

That's something I'd expect Reimu to say about pretty much everyone she's ever met.

Indeed! Until recently, there had only been about three/four major characters who had never fought Reimu! Kasen, Little Suzy, Rinnosuke and Akyuu. Three of which are non-combat civilians. Also, Kasen and Suzy were definitely friends with Reimu without havin' fought her, which just couldn't do! So now the finales of both their mangas took care of that.

Those are indeed super-important questions! Not just for the canon, but also personally for me as a huge Kasen fan.

Technically, Kosuzu never fought Reimu.

She was going to, though! Then Yukari and Mamizou had to go muck things up.

I'm kind of hoping Kosuzu becomes a player character and/or boss someday, since the manga notes she'd like to play danmaku herself. Besides, in theory it should be possible for even normal humans to participate.

@Fell Deeds Awake, Kosuzu became disillusioned with Reimu, thinking that she was oppressing humanity with youkai, and she was possessed by youkai from the Scroll. Yukari, for unknown reasons, decides Kosuzu is important and needs to live, knowing that if Kosuzu were to lose her humanity Reimu would have no choice but to eliminate her the same way she exorcised the Fortune Teller. Yukari then orchestrates a situation where Reimu would have to approach Kosuzu as if it were an incident, thus ensuring that Kosuzu wouldn't be killed. They proceed to let her in on Gensokyo's big secret, that humans are there to give youkai purpose and means to exist, but they're partners in a sense.

Thanks, Proxy! I remembered some things of that correctly, and some totally not. Somehow, at the time, I counted it as them having fought. But yes, I would also like to see Suzy participate in game shenanigans.

That is more of an eclipse than a black hole if you were sk me. Plus it's not like scientist didn't speculate that the image of a black hole wouldn't just look like a coffee stain.
