Both shotgun umbrellas and rain fairies can be found in Kourindou. SUCH CONVENIENCE!
Heart of StoneOne stop shopping for fairy kidnapping quests!
Forever liveblogging the Avengersyou two are like this thread's personal comedy duo
"Seriously, don't eat the mermaid. And not just because it's half cannibalism." ~OtherarrowSorry, but I can't accept a utopia built on fairy slavery.
I wonder if the outside world would have acid rain fairies...
Every thread needs a comedy duo. Fact.
If there's enough magic, maybe just maybe (and hey there's enough for Mamizou to live out there).
Acid rain fairy would be kind of cool but also kind of tragic. It'd be like a zombie fairy except not just cosplay. Nature corrupted or some such.
And if you don't want fairy utopia then no lightning fairy providing clean, free energy for you!

Forever liveblogging the AvengersI for one endorse Fairy Utopia.
Once, I had a thought. I liked it, so I had another.Tumblr:
- I think Kaguya's got her story mixed up here.
- Cheese, bananas, the moon is a lot of things it seems. Can't help but feel that a joke just went right over my head though with that text part.
I get the feeling ask blog artists have a lot more steam early on given all these updates. How quickly does it get tiring to draw the same character over and over again?

Sounds good to me, a paradise where everyone lives carefree and happy, making continous and more daring pranks to the each other.

Yes. And if we follow Sunny Milk's visionary vision, then fairies will RULE THE WORLD!!!!
Heart of StoneSomewhere along the line we got our wires crossed from a utopia running on fairies to a utopia run by fairies. I blame syntaxical fluctuations in the fabric of space time.
But I'm okay with it.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI, for one, welcome our new frilly fluttery overlords.
Welp, looks like fans won't forget this picture anytime soon.
Watch as the Kyouko/Mystia ships start pulling into the harbour.
Heart of StoneYou know, the more I read the more I believe that people in Gensokyo aren't actually afraid of death. I guess the possible existence as ghost and the certain knowledge what happens with you after death makes dying less scary...
And look out for Murasa, while you're at it.

Haaah, and it makes so much sense, too! What with how I made Kyouko a big fan of birds, haha!
I am pleased with anything that creates more rock god pictures. Very pleased.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersBonus Interview: Let's talk about the characters who didn't show up
Interviewer: Um... a number of characters didn't appear in either the Gensokyo Chronicles or the Tengu newspapers... especially the Watatsuki sisters. To begin with, there are people who don't even know what kind of characters they are. Please help out those of us who want to know more about these charcters.
ZUN: Uh... The Watatsuki sisters are princesses of the moon. Regarding Toyohime, she has "the ability to connect Mountain and Sea", which is an ability to move anywhere. Most importantly, she can move between the Lunar Capital and the surface, using the meaning of Gensokyo as the mountain and the moon as the sea.
Interviwer: Ah, a rather concrete interpretation then. She also has the image of eating peaches and carrying superweapons...
ZUN: I forgot to explain the weapons to Aki Eda so the depiction was super sloppy (lol). Her sister Yorihime is a more ordinary character.
Interviewer: Yorihime feels like the kind of protagonist who keeps powering up.
ZUN: That's because she's an overpowered character.* Without using the power of science, it's purely her own ability. In order to call down the strength of the gods she became strong. I wouldn't have made her too strong if it wasn't a manga. In a game you have to be able to win against any boss after all. Because it's a game you have to limit the characters.
Interviewer: I see. but because Yorihime showed up we got to see for the first time a concrete depiction of one of Reimu's abilities.
ZUN: But in that sense, wouldn't you have already seen her summon the three gods of the voyage for the three stage rocket?
Interviewer: Will we see more interaction between the Lunar Capital and Gensokyo?
ZUN: That's tough. Maybe, if humanity once again travels to the moon.* A non-NASA, private, for-profit venture looks possible. In the past it was spurred by the Cold War, and now it's money.
Interviewer: Space travel aside, the process of entering the Lunar Capital is pretty similar to entering Kasen's house, isn't it?
ZUN: Because the Lunar Capital and the house of a hermit are a bit similar. The residents of the Lunar Capital are closer to hermits or celestials than humans.
Interviewer: Now that you mention it, since there are also gods living on the moon, does that mean that Lunarians really are better?
ZUN: In my headcanon, the Lunar Capital is where the highest, noblest gods live, that sort of setting. Rebellious Gensokyo is where the more intimate, indigenous-type gods live. There are many factions of gods. Eirin's also like that, which is why she didn't interact with the other humans when she moved to Gensokyo.
Interviewer: I think I get it.
ZUN: Because of that, the Watatsuki sisters truly treat the Gensokyo side as Untouchables. As a necessary measure. Although because those two have fun-loving personalities they made the conversation a bit hammier than they needed to. When it comes to Gensokyan sisters, in general the younger one is broken.*
Interviewer: ZUN, I know you don't have a younger sister, but do you have some kind of grudge against them? (rofl)
Scarlet Weather Rhapsody Characters
I: I'd like to ask some questions about celestials and oarfish.
ZUN: Well, simply put they were left out because they have nothing to do with Kanako, Hijiri or Miko, but Tenshi has a pretty good personality, doesn't she? In the end, the game was all about everyone bullying her.
I: She reminds me of Cirno in that sense.
ZUN: The number of characters at that level of intelligence has increased, huh. That kind of character is easier to come up with, compared to timid characters which are harder. Because in the end Reimu's gonna beat them up in a game.
I: What about Iku?
ZUN: She has the ability to read the atmosphere, but she's terrible at taking advantage of it. In fact, because she read it, all of Gensokyo's resident atmosphere-breakers made things even worse. Well, seriously though, reading the atmosphere also has the meaning of swimming in the sky. So she doesn't really care if she's misunderstood.
I: I see.
ZUN: Oh yeah, Iku's species is called the "Messenger of the Dragon Palace", but the Dragon Palace really does exist. That's another Lunar Capital matter though.
I: You mean like how celestials live in the Lunar Capital.
ZUN: There are various connections between the places.
Midbosses
I: What about Kisume and Momiji and the others?
ZUN: Kisume... I don't really know what she normally does. I think of her as pretty brutal though. Words are useless against her: she'd just chop your head off, stick it in her bucket, and return home. The head you see may not even be Kisume's head.
I: Scary!
ZUN: Well, the head you see really is hers, but she's that sort of unpleasant character. As for Momiji... she has a lot of White Wolf Tengu comrades and clairvoyance. Quite a handy person to have around.
I: And even though you included the Kakashi Spirit News, there's no article about Hatate...
ZUN: It's because no one knows her except Aya, and why would Aya put her in the newspaper? But Hatate does have an ability that Aya lacks. Spirit photography is like clairvoyance except you can take pictures. You enter keywords that come to mind and related items come up, like Google. Well honestly, until just now I completely forgot that Hatate wasn't in either the Gensokyo Chronicles or the newspapers, so there isn't really a good in-universe explanation.
Kasen
I: Ibara Kasen isn't in the Gensokyo Chronicles either.
ZUN: Kasen's a great character, but since she's part of a work-in-progress I figured I shouldn't reveal too much here. That said, please enjoy the manga.

So Kasen's absence was because of spoilers. And Kisume is not a Nice Person.
Heart of StoneOr ZUN's being sarcastic. He's done that before.
I SUPPOSE the drops are justified by the book's premise, but it's still a big disappointment.
I sure said that! And if it weren't for Aya, Hatate would be on her way to be classified as an artifact spirit.
But isn't the Kakashi Spirit News actually in SoPM? Why would Hatate be artifacty?
Heart of StoneHe tells you right there that he just forgot to add an article about her.
That's a brilliant suggestion. We'll need a shotgun umbrella to capture some.
