(grasps hand, not knowing just how hard his grip is) Nice to meet you, too. I'm Füschlatz O'Reilly - Fusch for short.
Anyway, you're on the French Polynesian atoll of Maupihaa. The closest major population center is on the island of Raiatea, about 100 miles west from here. It's where I was going to take you before that fucking pig ruined my whole plan.

... I knew this would happen... There is no escape...
"A closed mouth doesn't get fed. An open mouth swallows 8 spiders a year." - Don Zabu(as Director:)
The thunderstorm abates to a degree, and the sun breaks through for a time, revealing that it is approximately noontime. It's still raining, but the sunlight reveals the charred wreckage of the plane, smoldering on the lagoon-side shoreline, bits of fresh debris scattered everywhere.
The light also reveals, just north a bit in the same building cluster, a lean-to type of structure, what looks to be a storage shed, and an outhouse.
Someone in the group becomes aware that the injured shipwreck survivor, Amy, is not anywhere to be seen.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.-is currently chewing a coconut whole- Way ahead of you.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!...I hear you, man.
Still raining, though. I think I'd feel better if we had a for-real roof over our heads, at least we would have some semblance of civilized life. Maye not in here though, this place creeps me the hell out.

It would seem, in the hour it took me to get home from work, that my thread has disintegrated. Time for the casualty control here. Assuming direct control.
(as Director:)
Okay, here's the situation for those wishing to toss in their lot with us:
A cruise ship sailing for Tahiti suffered a debilitating mechanical failure due to a rogue wave. Passengers were placed into lifeboats and life rafts. That was three days ago. One such raft washed ashore here, on the Island of Mauphiaa, some distance form Tahiti, but within the general area. The island (which actually exists) has been believed to be uninhabited for about two decades, but bears evidence of being a coconut plantation, as there's tons of coconut trees, and old plantation buildings still standing.
There is no airstrip. If someone had a plane, it would most likely be a seaplane, forced to land in the lagoon due to the powerful thunderstorm that is still rolling through the area.
The survivors are attempting to make do with limited supplies, all-you-can-eat coconuts and the occasional wild pig, mango tree and fresh crab. Their life-raft provisions are limited to some fresh water, energy ration bars and a first aid kit, and some assorted bric-a-brac.
Everyone with me so far?
