Back in my high school years, I was an avid calculator programmer, and one of my games for the Casio Graph series sounded good enough that I sent it to a Casio programs website,  *

in TXT format because I didn't have a PC link cable.  * That was in 2000 (edit: I was in eleventh grade).

In 2006, I got mail from someone who had downloaded it and needed some help due to mistypings. The fact that someone actually downloaded the game and went through the trouble of typing it, six years later, just awes me.

That is awesome indeed.

I love it when something I forgot I wrote gets nominated for a Made Of Win. Most recently, how someone gave me an MoW for The Stinger on Boom, Headshot!—just a stupid phrase I came up with ages ago listening to Bon Jovi, and it finally found a home. And then someone else turned out to like it too. smile

Oh, gods, that's horrible. Going to track down that MOW and second it.

O_o and I see sgrunt and I got MOW for nominating a page for a MOW that people otherwise hadn't known existed. Odd, but appreciated.

Looking back at the game, I remark that it had an absurdly pretentious pre-title screen where I "present" my "super game" in glorious text animation. Bite me, I was sixteen. Also, it was quite a popular trend on Casio calculators at the time: I got the idea from another game by Andreas Tinlund.  *

About two-ish years ago, someone tracked me down and wondered if I was the same Freezair she'd known back when she was forteen. She remembered me because of a cheesy PM RP we'd done for about two weeks involving warring magic cat/blacksmith wolf clans. I was not only astounded that she remembered, but that she still spoke fondly of the plot!

She's one of my most awesomest online buddies today. waii
