As much as I utterly love Aliens and would like to see its example get the page's pic, Shima has a point, Rodney: the pic really doesn't look as good once reduced to 330 px. The xenomorph's iconic features such as the head are barely visible, and a eye not used to the Alien saga can mistake its form as a mass of cables or something like that. The pic being a weenie bit too dark doesn't help.

Can't we get another, later frame where the xenomorph's silhouette is more distinctive, with it still dripping water?

No :( There isn't a frame like that. That is a frame or two before Newt closes her eyes (and thus doesn't look good), and a few moments before she turns around.
A more distinctive silhouette is what I had in mind, but it turns out, it doesn't happen, a "better" frame is not that much better. Like I said when I posted it, it is not as good as I was hoping, but I think it is the best one so far, anyway.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.

how is the Ace Attorney Investigations pic not part of the trope? Is it very specifically just something literally rising up behind you?

To quote the article itself:
Unless more emphasis on "rising up from behind" is put into the article as the absolute most crucial detail, I don't see how it doesn't apply.
I still prefer the Alien picture by a mile, but I've found this Miyuki picture just recently and couldn't resist showing it to you. It runs on Rule of Funny and Amusing Injuries instead of horror, but:
