On an interesting sidenote, they obviously bought the right back to own Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. This is nothing new. But for those around California, he’s seen around California Adventure quite a bit in billboards.
I don’t think they bought the rights to use him in a game, Oswald’s coming back full force.
Necro time! I finally got the chance to play the game. I was a bit skeptic at first (I've heard good things and... somewhat less good things about it.), but I've enjoyed it so far. The camera is problematic, but at the very least you have some control over it. I left off at Mean Street, and my brother's all the way to Mickeyjunk Mountain.
And jeez, this game is really depressing sometimes. Not that it's a good or bad thing, but what's up with that?
You know what I'd like to see with a usage of classic Blot in a sequel? Getting his hands on the brush and the consequences of what the brush could be used for in the wrong hands. Like Oo T Ganondorf level trouble in the regular cartoon world.
I had an idea for the sequel that basically revolved around playing as Oswald and Mickey in both the real world and the wasteland. You encounter something in the real world you need Oswald to take care of, or something in the Wasteland you need Mickey and the brush to solve, Mickey plucks out his heart and tosses it to Oswald, forcing the two to switch places.
Mickey's gameplay style would be close to the current style, with an emphasis on puzzle-solving. Oswald would be more of a brawny type.
Anyway, what are you guys hoping gets referenced in the next game?
I would hope that the sequel has a part where you can play as Oswald, kinda like Super Mario galaxy that would be cool. Anyways. I am hearing that Warren Spector is thinking about adding music like levels for the sequel, I do sense some references from Make Mine Music and Melody Time in the play? I would hope to see some references to Saludious Amigos and Three Caberallos in the sequel.

Oswald making efforts to build Walt's Epcot I've already mentioned, but it'd be interesting to see Julius brought into the story as the one Oswald's thinking of putting in charge when he gets his heart back, but Julius is reluctant to take charge because he's seen himself as not just a sidekick, but an abandoned sidekick.
I'd like to see Julius be what everyone thought Oswald would be... times TEN, since he was overshadowed by them BOTH and DIDN'T have the budget as an excuse.
"KILL THE MOUSE, TAKE HIS HOUSE
BREAK THE RABBIT, KICK THE HABIT
Al-iccceeeee..... why'd you have to grow up and leave me, Alice? Why did you have to GROW UP, GROW OLD, GROW DAISIES IN THE GRAVEYARD, ALICE?
Don't you remember how we used to sing and dance, Alice?... The ol' Tomcat with his mow-mow-mow, old hound-dog with his bow-wow-wow..."
Whoa, creeped myself out there.

Yeah, Oswald in the concept arts was much crazier than he ended up (he still has unhealthy mental issues though; Mickeyjunk Mountain is living proof of that.) Julius being the way Oswald might have been and then some would be High Octane Nightmare Fuel indeed.
Nah, I see that stuff saved for the Blot going crazy with his newfound power. Like around the climax, the Blot telling Mickey he's gotten over seeing people die and that he's not going to put Mickey in a death trap. After decades of battling, he's going to finally Kill the Mouse and Take his House himself, having siphoned off the powers of various Disney characters much like that Oswald Blot concept art and wearing a massive crown comprised of various villain horns. Only thing Mickey has to even fight with is the power of the Sorcerer's Hat while Oswald has taken up the Sword of Truth, but they're just up against pretty much the entire Disney world as the Blot has brought much of the real cartoon world under his control. Like a Disney Final Crisis.
People keep bringing up Mickeyjunk Mountain as proof of Oswald's mental instability, but remember that later events in the game indicate that he might not have had much choice about his location. He needed to guard the Blot's bottle, and even if he got to pick out the location of that, the remoteness made it a good strategic location to put something that's constantly spewing out monsters. It's also not clear whether he deliberately put all of the Mickey paraphernalia (even if he did, it could have been along the lines of "let's dump it all over there") or whether it congregated there naturally.
I find it unlikely that the High Octane Nightmare Fuel imagery shown in some of the early concept art is really going to come into a future sequel. It seems like the developers (or the executives, if you want to be cynical) discarded the stuff that really pushed the envelope in favor of a tone that was more similar to a standard Disney movie.
No idea who Julius is. Guess that's the point, eh?
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Well, if you put any credence in the graphic novel, Mickeyjunk Mountain was created deliberately by Oswald as a place to put all of merchandise that had Mickey's face on it because it was far, far away from everything and he didn't want anything to do with Mickey Mouse in his kingdom.
'Course, this is the graphic novel and there are definitely some differences between it and the game even when you take into account condensing a 15+ hour game into 64 pages. For example, in the graphic novel Oswald knows from the start that Mickey caused the Thinner Disaster while in the game, he doesn't.
Am I the only one who thought Oswald's voice was out of character? The voice that he was given to me didn't suit him. I was hoping they'd go for Coconuts's voice.

I doubt that. Disney is restructuring its gaming division so it would make more social and online games.
