This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

~amathieu13 are you back? I just saw you edit a page I follow and I thought you left the site for good 'cause of y'know, what happened in September.
CG for shortI’m terribly sorry to hear that. :( -comforting hugs- Get all the rest you need.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Your own health always comes first. Hope you get the rest you need!
Working on: Author Appeal | Sandbox | Troper WallTake care, and get well soon. I can relate to this (to an extent, since my situation wasn't quite the same) since I spent part of this year dealing with health problems that left me exhausted both physically and mentally, but in my case it was hypertension (high blood pressure) instead of hypotension, as well as low sodium (which was solved by increasing my salt intake), so taking it easy while waiting for things to improve is a good idea.

I got a rock for Halloween. Will be taking about a week or two of break. Nothing serious, I just need to clear up some entries in my reading list backlog.
- The Republic, by Plato
- (an abridged version of) ''Nicomachean Ethics, by Aristotle
- Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data, by Charles Wheelan
- Stalingrad, by Antony Beevor
- The Rising Sun: The Decline and Fall of the Japanese Empire, 1936–1945, by John Toland
By the time I return, at the very least I hope I finish two or three of them.
Hey. Most people here have probably never seen me before, but I'd like to give myself a forum of closure on this. As of today, I will be announcing an indefinite hiatus from TV Tropes. I will not be deleting my account entirely, so I will be able to read and respond to any DMs sent to me, but I currently have no plans to continue participating on the site itself. That being said, I will still check my DMs, so if anyone wants to message, I'm happy to talk
I don't really wanna get into the exact reasoning for it, it's just a combination of me wanting to focus on Uni study, and also me being very uncomfortable with certain things that have happened on the site within the past year or so. My participation was already a lot more sporadic anyway, so it's not really a surprise. I don't want anyone who does know me to be sad though, I make this choice fully of my own volition, and while it does hurt a bit, I do think it will be best for me as well, even disregarding the other motivating factors.
I don't like ending things on a sour note however, so I would like to say, that despite any problems I may have had over the years with the site, I don't regret coming here. I've made a lot of good friends and I have had some fun here too. Of course I'm sad that things have to be this way, but I'm happy for the good that came from it, and leaving TV Tropes isn't gonna ruin my life. Even though I never got branch out from where I started like I wanted too, I'll still always wear my forum name happily, as I genuinely do believe it to be a perfect description of me. I am, and always will be, Amanofmanyinterests.
I wish everyone reading this a nice day, stay cool, people. Amanofmanyinterests, signing off.
I wish you good luck in your future endeavors. :)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!

Welcome back, Agent!
