This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

"loosegoing"? You mean "easygoing", right? I don't see what's so...not loose about here, aside from the mandates on positivity and Big Brother constantly watching.

Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I used to go on other forums, but the ones I went on are either defunct, I moved on, or...actually I've only ever been on two other forums as a regular before...or maybe just one, since the first wasn't so much a forum as a collective of fandom societies.
I'm not much of a forum person, I guess. I find it too hard to get acquainted to the customs of a forum, takes too long for my level of patience generally. I don't even know how I managed to get absorbed into this one. If you could even really call it that, since I'm not exactly one of the more known people here despite having been here for like three or four years somehow.
Been thinking about joining the Something Awful forums for a long time, but I feel like it'd be really difficult to get accustomed to that site's customs and culture.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. It's a RP term.
In this context, that thread exists basically to make fun of people saying stupid (as perceived by the thread) stuff regarding roleplaying games.
One poster claims it seemed like I was suffering from a serious case of <angry emoticon> PLAYERS!!!</angry emoticon>

Apparently the SA culture meshes nicely with what a lot of tropers want in a forum.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI mean a lot of tropers found another home at SA, and a large number of them weren't even banned or otherwise clash with the administration.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWell, I wouldn't assume they'd all get banned just for being tropers. Some of the people on the site may hate on this site, but they hate on everything. As does everyone in the world.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. We have nothing against SA per se, but when the site is used as a platform to stage attacks on us, we definitely have a problem with that.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"That's because they banned TVT topics there. They actually got sick of the bashing, heh.
So they chose somewhere else.
Quest 64 threadAlot of tropers compared to what? Last I heard it was about a handful compared to the general pop of the forum. It also depends on which part of the SA forums they visit.
SA in general is not all that bad at all. I like their media section for one. I also like their gun section from what I have seen.
Who watches the watchmen?Oh wow, looks like they're also taking measures against drama import.
I do sense that Something Awful just does this as a hobby; they're well-behaved inside and quite organized. This Troper, on the other hand... I don't know.

Some kind of major policy change I'm guessing.
