This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

There's more, but hey, I'm tired and spacing out as I type.
That sounds like my trip to Montreal.
My hostel had a bar in the basement.
One of the bartenders and I had a sort of a thing.
Most of that thing was "she gave me free drinks and we talked a lot." There was supposed to be a date, but she got called in to work that night.
But seriously. So many free drinks. I think I had around 25-30 drinks in that bar over three nights she worked while I was visiting Montreal.
I paid for five and a half drinks.
It was not subtle on either of our parts, at any point.
Since when do guy get free drinks?! Life is just not fair anymore! Well, I at least can console myself with the thought that you didn't get any action! xD
... And now for the truth. That's how it actually went: Got my ass kicked, nearly pissed my panties when I saw that one horror movie, puked at a horrible party and was just pathetic in general. ;__;
xD
Kay: Guys get free drinks when the first conversation with the bartender goes as follows:
Her: [speaks French to a girl from France at the bar; looks at me] "You don't speak French very well, do you?"
Me: "Uh... not so much, no. I caught about one word in ten of that."
Her: "Ah. Well then. I was just telling her how I think more cute Western boys like yourself should come to Montreal and stay longer. In my bar."
And now you know why I got free drinks.
What happened to Kaiser Mazoku and A Groupie?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanA Groupie was banned for saying stuff like this, despite repeated warnings:
Kaizer Masoku hasn't been banned or anything.
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.I wouldn't object to merging the aforesaid sections with Comic Books and Animation...
