This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

Blam is pretty much our resident Eastern Animation fan. I'm mostly into New Wave frenchy stuff like Mitry and Chomet.

Unfortunately the situation is a mite more complicated. The limacologist I summoned at great personal expense, before his untimely acidic demise, was not able to negotiate with her, and had the nerve to recommend that I give the files up for lost! Because of his incompetence! But, fortuitously, his Difference Engine was not destroyed along with him, and so I can talk to you now.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.@Blam: Not really. Mitry was the dude who first started studying aesthetics in film. He only directed two films. Pacific 231 (Which was just a train ride from different angles) and Images pour Debussy. Which I haven't seen and know nothing about.
The name is so extraordinarily French it hurts...I like it.

"My life is my own" | If you want to contact me privately, please ask first on the forum.I will be leaving the fora, wiki, etc. etc. up to and including the entire internet for three months.
I expect to be back around early-to-mid-August.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Uh...wow.
Well, good luck with that.
We'll be waiting.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderOops, did I stop at the internet? I meant to say "up to and including my computer, iPods, and video game consoles/handhelds/what-have-you".
You'd call me insane, would you? I assure you that I am not.
I'm going to miss Homestuck so much...
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Yay BLAM is back! I can repost that thing I wrote last time she came back but left before she could read!:
I can only assume your Time Skip was due some Troper related Training from Hell to better prepare yourself for the harrowing task of working on pages.
The sort of thing that would look really awesome in movie trailer form…
...
“TV Tropes nearly killed me last time…this time…I’m ready.”
*Different scenes of BLAM reading a book next to a pile, picking a ‘B’ movie out of a stack of Netflix disks, having her face illuminated by nothing but computer light with dark circles under her eyes*
*Scene of someone stepping off a bus, camera pans up from his or her feet to first show a laptop bag, then pans to show the person is none other than BLAM*
“…and I’ve got A LOT of pages to add”
*Music kicks into “high gear” as BLAM types lightning fast at her computer, adjusts her classes, thumbs through a thesaurus and brings her pointer over the “save” button.*
“Moon Prism Power, BITCH.”
BLAMSPAM: Return of the Alligator.
Or, you know…the free time suction nature of the site made a hiatus a good idea…
Welcome back.
...I probably could have wrote up a new one, but I'm full of alcohol and cigar smoke at the moment. It's only by the mercy of a spell checker that the additions to this post don't look like something a semi-retarded person with lobster claws for hands typed up.
Good to have you back...again.
