This is a thread for people who will not be or have not been on the site for a while, whether due to real life or to resist an internet addiction, the latter of which is encouraged within reason. Also, talk about the benefits/whatever of taking a day or a weekend off, or things to do when not online. TV Tropes ruining your life is nothing to be proud of.
Generally, expect the following from this thread:
- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

I want a moment of silence for Scrye. Apparently, he's been "Google banned"...whatever the hell that means. And anyone with an ounce of real blood in their veins will miss him.
He was flagrant, abrasive and eminently quotable. And now, he journeys forth into a dangerous war zone, and might actually get shot, something that most of us tropers will never experience save in our deepest fantasies or our worst nightmares.
I pour one out on my lawn for Scrye. And I hope that somewhere, he will taste some whiskey.
Good luck, broheim..and remember; Check six!
If I were to write some of the strange things that come under my eyes they would not be believed. ~Cora M. Strayer~No, he came on IRC and mentioned it, something to do with the American imperialism thread. He also said that he had been laughing since.
[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.We lost a brother today with Scrye's departure. Some of you might not know him that well; count yourselves among the lost. He was funny, honest, sarcastic and above all a good friend. With him gone our numbers dwindle; he was truly a pillar of our community.
I won't go into the reasons behind his absence; those of you who know me already know how I feel. Rest assured he shares your sentiment.
Now he's off to who knows where to do bad things to bad people. Maybe I'll see him there or here; either way I'll buy the man a beer. Wish him well.
Here's to you brosef; stay safe.
We lost Scrye? Goddamn.
I've got nothing to say that Kino didn't say better. I wish him well out there. He'll be missed.
My Tumblr. Currently side-by-side liveblogging Digimon Adventure, sub vs dub.I wasn't there so I won't comment on the ban, but good luck with his deployment thing.
What's the frequency Kenneth?|In case of war.Uh, a Google ban still means that Fast Eddie is preventing him from accessing the site, not Google.

[1] This facsimile operated in part by synAC.Well, I've seen him warned by Madrugada before, and stuff
... I don't want to talk down anymore about people that aren't here, though, sorry.
@Kyler: That when you try to access tvtropes.org you get redirected to Google, apparently.
