The rivers are a bit off. The "Columbia" is too far "west". They don't match well.

Matches well enough, though, to call it a resemblance.

Also, that pits the center city as Berkeley/San Francisco, where the artist went to school. Yep, I see the resemblance.

Oh yeah, the Bay Area is pretty clear here.

So I wonder if this is really a case of Earth All Along, with some significance to the plot, or just a little Easter Egg/hidden reference/just a clever way to come up with an original-looking map... :P

It fits what we have already discussed — a mention of The Bible in Meekipedia, and the fact that the book Soli stole is a Real Life title. The latter may also have been a Shout-Out or Easter Egg, but the former raises some questions; what was mentioned was literally the Bible, not some Crystal Dragon equivalent. I can buy it being a fantasy neverland, though. *

But all the clues would mean it's really elaborate Easter Egg.

edit: and now as I read Pasori myths on Meekipedia, they can be understood to mention some kind of nuclear winter.

I have started a wild mass guess page for The Meek on its page! Go and add to it! Because this comic already lends itself to crazy theories. Go wild!

... (starts timer before the "Angora is a Time Lord and her hair is her TARDIS" meme pops up.)

The third is a yet unseen character.
Eh? He looks a lot like Luca to me.

Re: the map. I spotted that a while ago. It seems like it's arranged with the top not being North specifically so people won't recognize it as the west coast! Also, is there a bigger and more detailed version?

I like the After the End theory. If you look at Meekipedia, you can find out that the date by their calendar is currently HY754. I wonder if that means 754 years since the apocalyptic event? I'd be quite willing to believe that...

Meekipedia says it's Harvest Year, counted since the first time when Old Mesdan capital had enough grain for a whole winter. Which does fit, if we take the post-apo idea for granted — it may be the end of nuclear winter, or some later event that doesn't contradict it.

The Pasori language also gave me a vague Slavic impression, but I guess now I may be overinterpreting.

It'll be up within the next few hours. She's just doing some final polishing up, it would seem. (If you have Facebook and don't "like" The Meek there already, you should. It's the single best source of updates.)

Well, it's basically a very very good guess that's sort of backed up by photographic evidence. It would seem she still goes to the utmost lengths to not really mention her gender.

And here's the new update!

And they're going to be daily until the end of the chapter. Awesome.

All I have to do is "like" the Meek? Or do I have to "friend" it?

Okay, so a radio is super awesome tech worth thousands? I'm forcibly reminded of this world's After the End nature.

Wait, the brat is a guy? Damn, that's TWO people on whom I got the genders wrong in the same group of the same comic.
