@Signed: I like the red-haired warrior...
Also, the blackhaired red eyed Alchemist looks so badass in EO 1. He looks Hot-Blooded and Go Nagai ish... only w/out sunburns.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.I don't know...Fandom more frequently uses the black-haired alchemist, but personally I always preferred the blond alchemist, his scarf is more kick-ass...
And just to say I was talking about the red warrior in three...
whether I play EO 2 or 3 next, I need to put in more girls. In EO 1, the only girls I had were my Dominatrix, err, I mean Dark Hunter, my Survivalist, and my Troubadour.
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadIf you play the War Magus, choose the girl portrait then...all 4 of their portraits are pretty subpar, but the male ones are downright hideous.
I remember when I played EO 2, I had to struggle with making a male character, due to how much better looking the females all were. Like compare the female Ronins to their male counterparts.
NOOOO!!!! Awww. The beginning of the game are some of the best parts of Etrian Odyssey due to how difficult it is. Remember the first few floors of stratum 1? Damn. Your entire party armed with swords and guns, RAPED by a couple of hedgehogs and a snail. Scared shitless by a single deer wandering around.
I wish Etrian Odyssey was like THAT all game long.
Ah well, no game is perfect...all game have their stupid little flaws no matter how great they are...focking Vita-Chambers.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."I enjoyed Stratum 1 and the transition into Stratum 2 the most. I was absolutely terrified of the Sloth. And the Moas. And the Armoths. I loved it when I was like fugitive on the run from gigantic chickens. I was OK with Stratum 3 because of the Scenery Porn, but I started losing interest by Stratum 4.
^^ I said a bit more forgiving than the other two games! I know that ruining franchises FOREVER is the big marketing thing this year, but geez! :p
Trust me, there are still random encounters on the first and second levels that can wreck you in no time flat - the Great Lynxes on the first floor will most likely one-shot any frontliner that isn't a Hoplite, and same with the Largebills on the second floor (but you can avoid those by going at night). The game just waits a little longer than 2 to declare that it absolutely loathes your existence and wants you to suffer and perish (I never played the original, so I can't say about that one)

Well, for someone like me...I play Etrian Odyssey for the Nintendo Hard...and the cute characters...and the music...and the atmosphere...and the scenery porn...and it's gameplay...but mostly for the Nintendo Hard!
To bad EOII and EOI got easier as you went deeper into the dungeon. Although EOII got a bit harder again once you went deep into Stratum3 and started getting lost and murdered by FO Es, and then repeatedly violated by the stratum boss, Scylla. Damn I love that boss, she made the game hard all over again.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."^^^^ Wait, you really like how the female Warmagi look more? The male ones are so much cooler.
Actually, that's one of my big problems with this series. The female characters don't look as cool. They're either creepy-looking Moeblobs, or their outfits are sexier at the cost of actually looking cool. Thankfully, there are some that actually look awesome, like the Hoplites, Princess * and Shogun this time around. Of course, none of this is to say that I would ever want them to change the art style. Everything looks so stylish. And the insane monster designs. <3
So I just started 3. I'm only on the second floor, because I keep getting sidetracked by sailing. I have no idea why it's so fun, but it just is. And the Prince/Princess job class is an absolutely amazing support character. Buffs and heals at the same time? Yes please!
By the way, am I the only one here who still hasn't beaten the first two games? Plus there's The Dark Spire that I need to finish. I love these difficult dungeon crawlers too much for my own good. I think I must have an addiction.
I don't care if that Hoplite portait (with the short hair) is suppsoed to be female, I'm gonna make it a male character with a male name goddammnit! Why did they make the male hoplites so ugly for.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."^^Not even Red-haired female landshark?
^^Haha, yeah, the blonde female hoplite and the female alchemist with the glasses confused me until I looked at their art. My reaction was 'Wait... that's a girl?' And I don't typically find the I'M A BIG BUFF MANLY MAN HURRR characters ugly. But that might be because I'm a girl, though.
What is the 'bartering' menu option at the dock for? Is it some local wireless thing?
Don't worry about this one being easy. I'm currently mapping out the first floor, and I was fairly far in. I was attacked by a Great Lynx and lost my Monk and Hoplite. I had one nectar to revive my Monk, and started to run back to the exit. What do I run into on the way there? Yet another Great Lynx. I miraculously manage to kill it, and return to town with only an Arbalist at 3HP. And I haven't even encountered my first FOE yet.
"I want to create an omelet that expresses the meaninglessness of existence, and instead they taste like cheese."Yeah, Great Lynxes are EVERYWHERE. I didn't encounter one for a fairly long time when I was mapping the first floor, but now I regularly encounter two in a row. But hey, they're good exp.
Good EXP for the ones that survive, at least.
"I want to create an omelet that expresses the meaninglessness of existence, and instead they taste like cheese."I have just acquired Etrian Odyssey 3. I built my party (Hoplite, Gladiator, Monk, Zodiac, Prince) and ventured into the dungeon. After running screaming in terror from the first Great Lynx (almost killed the Hoplite in one attack!) I finished mapping out the floor for the mission. I then wandered some more and went down to the second floor where I encountered my first F.O.E. Even after being warned by an NPC, I stared at it for a few seconds before shrugging and charging ahead to see what it's like. After a valiant struggle, people started dropping like flies and I'm not even sure if I got through 10% of its HP.
Still fun as hell, though.
Oh god, has anyone else run into the Largebill yet? I can handle Great Lynxes fine (Kagerou is awesome), but the Largebill wiped my team out.
Largebills are by far the biggest threat in the first stratum. They hit harder than some of the FO Es and have the most health of any non-FOE encounter in the stratum. Don't go lower than the first floor unless its nightime or you're sure you can handle two of them.
^ Wait till you get to the second stratum and Starfishes start one-shotting you with Icicle.
oh wtf, how come I still can't find any copy in the store near me?! Is Canada and US different?
So when does the game get harder to the level of previous games? And when do we get unlockable classes if any?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."^ Oh man, they're all out around you? Sorry about that, man. What about Amazon?
I think I heard the bonus classes are unlocked after you beat the game. And as you've seen above, there's still random monsters that can come out of nowhere and cream your party.
I don't trust those online deliver sites....for one thing, canadian border guards or whoever it is that checks on things being brought into canada are absolute dicks.
Among other reasons of course. If I truly can't find a copy, then I'll just play the game in a more underhanded method...like I did for Jump Super Stars.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."most stores I went to only had copies for people that preordered. Should preordered man :/
Taking a break from FE1, for the FE8 draft insteadI didn't even know that this was getting an english release until a few days ago.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."
That would be badass if he actually was one eyed.
