No trailer, but Jack Black did confirm he's voicing a character.
See, THIS is when I get excited for really out there art styles and new graphics. When games have photorealitsic everything? It'll look dated by next year.
But SUPER styalized everything? They can make a lot different uses of the hardware and the animations and textures in comparison. So much of the hardware isn't devoted to, say, every strand of hair on a character's head. It doesn't have to be animated that way and we can instead devote resources to other things like making sure the worlds are populated or that the animation has real life to it and more expression and variety because we also don't have to worry about realistic movement.
I love it.
Bummer about the release date change, but oh well. I'd rather get a polished, finished product.

Well, to be honest, if you can only animate one specific type of character, you're probably aren't a good animator. There's some stipulations to this as some are going to know how to animate humans vs. animals vs. anatomically impossble creators of eldrich horror, but... Yeah.
I think there's a bigger discussion to that about how male dominated certain fields are and other things, but I don't see anything wrong with a male animating this character. If he does a good job and has the right idea of energy and animation for the character, who cares? No one would really care if a woman were animating Raz either...
At the end of Psychonaut the group rushed off to save Lili's dad. They say that they know who did the kidnapping, but that makes them worried. Yet, in Rhombus of Ruin, they don't seem to know who the kidnapper was. Is this a retcon, or is there an explanation I'm not seeing? Raz did run into one guy who sort of implies he had bosses, but there was never anything like an organization named.
If it came out 12 years ago...... why don't we just forget it ever existed, and just make a new, unrelated game? When you are making a sequel, there are several things you are obliged to do. To get a minor throwaway line in the middle of the game wrong is VERY MUCH OKAY, happens to everyone. But to forget the beginning and ending cutscenes to your own game?
That is shameful.
I meant that btw.
And relax, I am not REALLY going to burn down Tim's house (only in my dreams).

Because out of all the things I liked about Psychonauts, one little Sequel Hook at the end being left out isn't going to break my heart? It's not all or nothing, here. Twelve years is a lot of time to change your mind about something.
I think I know how to put it best for everyone here to understand.
To assume everyone who will play Psychonauts 2 played the first game many years ago and forgot the details, would be a very wrong assumption. Since the game is available on Steam and PSN, it will be more accurate to assume a whole lot of new players will play the 2 games back-to-back.
And 90% of those new players will notice the immediate unexplained retcon. And they will complain on their Twitters and whatnot. And Tim will have to burn down his house himself out of shame.

Looking good so far. I'm predicting we'll get a new trailer at this winter's Game Awards.
