Nothing is obvious in the world of music!

lol wikipedia

Many do not believe that generic classification of musical styles is possible in any logically consistent way, and also argue that doing so sets limitations and boundaries that hinder the development of music. While no one doubts that it is possible to note similarities between musical pieces, there are often exceptions and caveats associated.

Hey look, it's my view! What's that doing there?

Well obviously, No Fi taken to its totally logical conclusion would be complete and utter noise with no instruments or structure of any sort. And it will be hailed as a masterpiece, because that's how the world works.

Even better.

Then I can say I have influences.

@genres: I think the larger ones are useful, things like psychedelic-hellbilly-doom metal? Not so much.

Further music related tangent: New Creation are a bunch of weirdos, Christian Rock or no.

I funny thing just happened to me. I was about to check on the laundry while listening to music.

I open the door just as Back in Black by AC/DC starts playing (the ultimate walk-into-a-room song).

This all struck me a moment later.

So.

Having just acquired a large amount of songs by The Flamin' Groovies, I have discovered the awesome of Garage Rock.

Hmm... I haven't heard much garage rock. But, hey, I'm open to anything. Any recommendations? (Apart from the Flamin' Groovies, who I'm counting as a recommendation here.)

Lord: Well, like I said, I just got into it today, so they're really all I've got at the moment, although this one song by The Brian Jonestown Massacre sounds pretty good too.

I downloaded their track 'Let's go fucking mental' last week. I appreciate the sentiment, plus it has a bit of that early Gorillaz style accordion (I think).

I'll have to look that up, I (have been made to) love Norwegian music. But I've not heard anything sounding like that.

Question: How much use would a "Albums I want to listen to" thread get?
