A hot-headed trickster and an information broker talk about game issues and engage in a snark-off.
Stress and nervous tension are now serious social problems in all parts of TV Tropes, and it is in order that this situation should not be in any way exacerbated that the following facts will now be revealed in advance.
No, they never beat Serani. Yes, they beat the Victory Cakes. Yes, all the baby lernafowl leave Euboea when they grow up. No, she never beats Moccus in a snark-off. * Finally, no, he did not print it out. But he thought about it.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersA sweet, little gardener's fears are allayed by a grudge-bearing pirate.
^ My best guess for Euboea's side of this is that she heard the rumors and asked Moccus about them. When Moccus wasn't able to confirm or deny them, she jumped onto the panic bandwagon and warned Jasmet. Euboea can be remarkably dumb for a clever troll.
Also, some caustichefing background that I just made up. There are no schools or classes for caustichefing. Its self-taught. Anyone that wants the career has to go out and located poisonous and other dangerous plants and learn to prepare them. Prospective caustichefs tend to come from trolls whose lusii eat a lot but live in horticulturally dubious areas.
Kobatt and Manticorn for example. Manticorn's species tends to be nomadic. Since Manticorn had to stay in one place in order to raise Kobatt, Kobatt had to learn to make the local plants safe for Manticorn. Since Kobatt's hive is actually located in a somewhat barren place, he eventually contacted local farms to obtain a food source.
There are only two requirements to become a caustichef. The first is that you journey to one of the ancient cheese mines of Alternia and mine yourself a stylish yet disgusting chef's hat. The second, undertaken when the troll nears adulthood, is that they must pass the caustichefery exam. The exam board gives them random ingredients which they must make into a meal for themselves and three or four red or brown-bloods pulled off the street. Pass this test and wear that hat and you become a empire-approved caustichef, ready to use your skills in service of the empire.
Originally, the purpose of caustichefs was to allow the conquering trolls to eat the local flora. In practice, since many places actually are safer to live and eat on than Alternia, the caustichef uses low doses of poisons on the rations of the adults off-world to get it to an approximately Alternian level. Caustichefs are also expected to, no questions asked, poison anyone that the hypothetical high command tells them to and to weed out weaker trolls.
Kobatt would not have been happy had he passed his exam and become a caustichef. *
Forever liveblogging the AvengersEuboea is highly skilled at changing the topic if something she doesn't want to argue about comes up. Unfortunately, Don't Be a Huge Bitch was her dump stat.

>Orcuus: Contemplate that last conversation.
You feel bad about lying to Jasmet like that. The fact is that you still don't believe at all that Catlin didn't intend to see you injured. This is an example of dramatic irony. Which of course you don't know, because, well, that's what dramatic irony means.

Delicious OOC chat. Now with 100% more discussion of Neemea's future.
Moccus's adoption by the incredibly rare lusus, a Lighting Lion, was about to be finalized. He had the incredably rare shade of red to match up. He would have appreciated the same rank as Kanaya, as there is only one Lightning Lion at a time and it controls the weather. Then, out of the blue, he's trollnapped by Gryphette, who didn't care about the shade of red he is, just that he looked smart and had the tastiest looking hair in the room. The Lightning Lion is his legal guardian and keeps looking for him, so Gryphette has to keep moving. She makes excuses for this by having stupid accidents before they move, so Moccus thinks she's an idiot. The Lighting Lion also survived the meteors, byt diverting them around him and keeping moving. When they find gate technology, he'll be there. Waiting. He's actually not a bad guy. HE JUST WANTS HIS SON BACK OH GOG WHY DID THAT HORRIBLE CREATURE TAKE HIM MOCCUS IF YOU CAN HEAR THIS DADDY LOVES YOU BE STRONG. Lighting Lion is waiting, hoping his beloved son will have survived.
Also, if LL had raised Moccus, he would have killed himself so he could act as Moccus's sprite. This act would have created a Lightning Cub, who would have survived the meteors.

Well, okay then.

Always touching and looking. Piss off.^ Kobatt has already expressed his practical objections to such a thing.

Seriously, everybody needs to pastchat with Coelia. We need to establish her personality and dealings with others.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYes...
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicIt amuses me how Vespia can split herself up.
'Oh, yes, Vespia decided to visit too! Well, she only sent a quarter of herself, but that counts.'
"You fail to grasp the basic principles of mad science. Common sense would be cheating." - NarbonicI imagine her intelligence drops if she's split into smaller swarms.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersYeah, Bocaj is right. The main swarm is wherever the queen is, thus centered around the hive. When split up, a subswarm will still be Vespia but can't add new memories it creates to the communial psychic memory pool until at least one unit with those memories rejoins the main swarm. But, one unit on it's own can't hold very many new memories. Er, if that makes sense? Her mind works kind of like SCP-408
, in that it's spread over the whole swarm. Memory is preserved pretty well, but intellegence depends on the size of the swarm or subswarm.
