Well Nikkolas, if you want to unlock Lugh for fusion you can't go with Daichi, so maybe you should side with either Ronaldo, Yamato, or the Anguished One. Siding with that last one though is an effort unto itself, however.
I wouldn't recommend that last one for a blind run. Even if you unlocked it, the first few battles of that route is hard. Especially if you got people killed and haven't got Fate ranks with the alive ones.
lol I'm trying to guess at what you spoilered based on how small the blank spot is and it apparently being related to Law people.
I don't like Daichi much anyway.
Yeah how hard is it to get Fate Ranks anyway? I'm very worried I only have 2 with Io and I'm still 1 with Joe.... Do you just have to meet them a lot or are the right dialogue options required?
Edited by Nikkolas on Mar 15th 2019 at 6:44:05 AM
You have to meet them and make the correct dialogue choices.
New Doi art for a Sega expo at the end of the month◊. Will the SMTV silence be broken at least?
I am really digging that slightly altered Jack Frost design!
Who's the green demon next to Mothman?
Ukobach, who is usually a pretty low level fallen.
Liberation DX 2 weirdly buggy on update for everyone else now that the DMC event is on? I can't update properly...

The red-faced one is Taowu, right? Anyway, yeah, Doi's been doing a fine job as Kaneko's successor, IMO.
I like the way Doi drew Lilim there
So instead of saying Jungo I talked to Io and Joe and met a random friend of Joe's that totally showed Joe was lying when he said he went and spoke to a nurse about his girl. I do wonder what the heck is going on there.
Also is it just me or are the women of this game...erm,very noticeably buxom? A Not something I'm used to seeing in SMT games, at least on human females. I first noticed it on io and then Hinako and now even Fumi. The boobs are just right there and very obvious. EDIT: Well the game itself acknowledges it. Women do, in my experience, argue about whose breasts are bigger far more than you'd think. At least I was shocked hearing stories like my friend saying her mom was jealous of her boobs as well as a story about two policewomen who were suspended for getting into a heated debate on the matter of who has bigger breasts. Men don't debate penis sizes, at least not so openly.
So i Multi Hit better than Berserk? I'm just wondering if it might be my boss killer. I had Tailwind and +5 Agility as my Auto Skill until just now when I got Blitzkrieg. I'm not sure which is better. My team currently doesn't use magic at all.
I do have to admit I'm surprised this Ronaldo guy is Law. All that's been said about him all game is that he organized "rioters" into a mob and had them attack JP's and also fuck up the rest of the city. Sounds perfectly chaotic to me.
But wait.. are you saying the voice-acting of Cam Clarke can't make this character the best? Cam fucking Clarke?!!! I was so shocked when I first heard him and was like "no...that can't be him." But it clearly was because it's Cam Clarke and he's unmistakable. Unmistakably awesome.
The third day was a lot of nothing. I forgot the plot and went grinding to make a few new teams of awesome demons. My Orcus has 27 Strength and my mages all have mid-20 magic and Dances. Then again, I still have so much more grinding ahead of me because a ton of new fusions just popped up and I have to keep buying back my demons. I never realized this in the last game but I was probably gimping myself by relying on the auction demons. Their shitty stats held me back. Then again, I have no idea what determines the fused stats with some of these. Everything I'm trying to make has way worse Str and Mag than my current best... Oh well, I'll deal with it. Here's hoping money is even easier to come by on the 4th day. I was making about 1500 a round in Free Babble at Nagoya. If that can go up to 2000 I should be fine.
Well....Yamato is certainly direct and honest. I did not expect it to go like "Yeah, I fucking killed that dude."
Tico seems to question whether saving Fumi was the right thing to do. Nobody does seem all that curious about WHY the demon was possessing her. Perhaps he was the true hero of the story and we killed him.
It's strange Ronaldo gets the top spot in the FATE page. It would have made sense if as guessed, that it was the Anguished One but nope. He's there but not the first place.
"You could tell them you're gay." God, I love this game. The MC has the best solutions to problems.
Somebody said Yamato came off like Chaos at first and I see what they mean. One of the first things he says to you is that there are only worthy and unworthy people;
that only the strong get food. This is very Chaos-y. But I do wonder if there is an element of Law to this. After all, Chaos is...well, chaotic. It deplores "stagnant stratification." Yamato looks down on civilians and can't believe they could amount to anything. That's very un-Chaos which would say that anyone of any background can achieve greatness. They would not be as flummoxed as Yamato is by the fact a "civilian" can do great things.
Why couldn't I reprimand Io and Daichi for being stupid enough to not only hand out food like that but to do it without permission? They basically stole food to give to people and, of course, things went terribly.
Anguished One's questions about humans are strange. Live off the Earth and pass on our seed? So we return to farmers? But then he goes on to say freedom is unnecessary and I don't agree with that. I just selected I agreed with him to see what he said but reloaded. You gotta be careful when dealing with enigmatic beings of great power. I don't want him to take my words about not returning to the old ways to mean I want some...I dunno, whatever the hell he was considering.
An entire day of grinding..... Level 36 now. I forget if I said I realized one thing gimping me in the last game was over reliance on Auction demons. Here, I knew from the start that I had to use my own demons as much as possible. I'd fuse a demon then go back and buy back the "parts." My goal was huge stats, specifically Str and Mag. Well, I have several mages near 30 Mag - and Baphomet has 31! - all with Elemental boosts and their corresponding Dances. Got three Physical demons all with 24-30 Str and I just got Ares Aid along with Phys Boost and Phys Up on one of them along with a mix of Berserk, Power Hit, Assassinate, Mow Down.... I remember in Persona 4 somebody was kind enough to give me a list of how the various Phys skills weer ranked in terms of damage. "High" covers a lot of ground. Does anybody know how the Phys skills in this game are ranked?
All-in-all, it was exhaustively repetitive but I'm very proud of myself. I knew if I planned ahead and just kept building up my pool of high stats it would pay off. Orcus and his 27 Str was invaluable.
Speaking of crazy stats, Fumi must be the definition of Glass Cannon. Crazy girl dumps everything into Magic.
I figure Marksman is my best Auto Skill right now for my physical team. My last demon, the one that made me think I'm finally good, was Omega Tonatiuh. He has 28 Str, Might Call, Power Hit, Berserk, Phys Boost, Phys Up, Ares Aid and his Racial Skill which says I might get a third turn in battles. That's awesome. I haven't tried it yet.
Holy Plot Twists Batman. Ronaldo's Senpai was Airi's dad?! I saws that coming the moment he said he had a daughter in high school. But...wow, I was shocked at this bit of unexpected news. I was seriously conflicted on what to do, choosing between Yamato and Ronaldo to visit, but it seems that Ronaldo's subplot involves Airi. Airi has become my favorite character in the game - Joe recommended we hook up! - so I will be talking to him to make sure I don't miss anything with her. And...well, my feelings for Yamato have soured now. I really was hoping I could tell Airi about the fact the leader of JP's, that group she belongs to, murdered her father. It has to come up sometime.
All my preparations were not in vain! I lost my first fight with Megrez because I stupidly just charged after it as it kept moving. Also I had no movement aiding demon on Airi. (oh yeah, I went to fight at Nagoya with my favorite lady and...uh, the other one with the huge tits and bizarre face) But I had a Suparna with Winged Flight from all my grinding. Not a bad attacker either with 20 Str. However, guess what? Baphomet, my strongest Demon with 31 Magic, had Ice Dance and Ice Boost. And guess what element this boss is weak to? Hehe. Anyway, once I knew what was coming, I had Fumi stay around on the one side to deal with fodder and the Magrez Buds. Airi flew around doing 3/4 of the work but my MC did one part. Anyway, it was a suitably intense and interesting battle.
Also I imagine everyone keeps Anti-Phys in rotation among their fused demons until something better comes along? I do it in every SMT /Persona game and it has never steered me wrong. Here, Baphmet had a Phys weakness but my keeping Anti-Phys on everyone since the start of the game aid off splendidly.
Io: How did you know I was looking for a book?
"I am the master of the Palantir."
I really have to wonder what that was in Japanese. Unless Tolkien is big in Japan? Maybe he is, I have no idea.
The start of the Fifth Day makes me think I'm playing a harem anime. This really IS Neon Genesis Evangelion!
I think I'll post all this now. I'm super into this game at present. I love absolutely everything about it.
Except Otome. Why does she exist?
Also I've met "Mystery Man" with an awesome hat two times and nothing has come of it. Have I missed stuff?
Edited by Nikkolas on Mar 16th 2019 at 7:32:46 AM
IIRC the guy who did the character designs for DeSu2 is known for drawing the large bosoms.
ED: And Otome exists for the sake of filling out the character roster. Having a zodiac themed party means needing 13 party members. At least she's marginally more plot important, being JPs's medic, than the boxer kid who's name I can never remember.

Yeah, the character artist for the Devil Survivor games is Suzuhito Yasuda who draws the manga Yozakura Quartet and illustrates for a couple light novels most prominently Durarara!! I think his art style's really well-suited for Urban Fantasy overall, but he is silly about fanservice a lot.
"Mystery Man" is an optional subplot that sheds a bit more light on the backstories of two characters and nets you the ability to fuse Jikokuten if you see it all the way to the end on Day 6.
Edited by ComicX6 on Mar 16th 2019 at 7:32:03 AM
Oh yeah I forgot Keita existed too. Have not talked to him once. lol
Interesting, thank you.
Edited by Nikkolas on Mar 16th 2019 at 7:33:26 AM
Otome by the way is one of those two character where if you don't try to save the character after getting their death clip she will die.
The breast sizes did kinda jump out at you more in Desu 2. In one, it was Yuzu, Haru, Izuna...Mari...and Amane.
In 2, it's Io, Makoto, Fumi, Otome, Hinako, and in Record Breaker Miyako...
Hmmm, almost an even number actually. Both games have one girl who's smaller too (Midori for 1 and Airi for 2, and in Airi's case, she's still more buxom than Midori).
Man, that guy loves his fan service.
I have vague memory of Fumi, Hinako, and Jungo being the Holy/Unholy Trinity in DeSu2. Though I think Daichi gets some ultility over Hinako towards the end.
Fumi and Jungo sink basically all their stat gains into Magic and Strength respectively. This makes them fairly slow and frail (at first, I think they both get some fairly hefty Vitality later), but anything they hit is gonna be super dead.
Edited by asterism on Mar 16th 2019 at 2:53:13 PM
Yes but it is irritating because Fumi is so Magic heavy she can't even use Auto Skills like Fortify or Blitzkrieg or Weaken.
I'm still not sure which is more useful: Weaken lowering an enemy's defense by 25% or Blitzkrieg increasing your offense by 25%. You would think the result would be identical but I have no idea.
In any event, offense is the key in this game as far as I can see. Not teh be-all and end-all given you need variety and versatility on the field. Without mobility race skills or mobility restricting race skills, you will be fucked. But as far as pure fighting goes, just hit the shit out of them at the start of a fight.
Also Assassinate is the fucking best thing. That skill made the Megrez boss swarms far more manageable. Then again, apparently you could just stop them from spawning... Eh, who cares.
Forgot to mention I figured out what was up with Joe and his girl. Wedding bills will be ringing!
Also apparently Mystery Man is Airi's father? Thanks for the spoiler someone on another site.... He acts like it was obvious but it's a dude in a hat and he's done nothing. I thought he (Mystery Man) was an assassin. Also I thought he (Airi's dad) was dead. Fucking hell. I thought he might be another party member.

Option B if you're a bit antsy about going full offence is loading Otome up with healing spells and fielding her instead.
So DS 2 has this new ending thing. But it also has different routes. Is it like the first game where only certain routes get the extra stuff?
Obviously no spoilers, just curious about what in general the game might have changed from the original's ending(a).
From what I know, Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker really doesn't have many differences from the original game aside from new demons, the DLC missions, and voice acting for the Septentrion Arc. It's the Triangulum Arc added into the 3DS remake where most of the differences and new content will be.
Edited by CybranGeneralSturm on Mar 16th 2019 at 9:38:15 AM
The Triangulum arc follows up on a scenario that isn't actually achievable in the Septentrione arc.
So the two arcs have different endings that aren't affected by each other, since Septentrione endings can't directly go into Triangulum.
Edited by Nouct on Mar 16th 2019 at 9:53:30 AM
Triangulum is started by a mishmash of Anguished One and Daichis routes that isn't achievable ingame.
