Gordon sat, deep in thought. When had the chimps become intelligent? They were clearly organized, when had that happened? Had there been a human-chimp war?
Oh, he was also thinking about the possible connection of the double eclipse and the challenge itself. It seemed far to coincidental just to be a coincidence...
Gordon briefly glanced at the little girl again. It was bad enough that they already had a kid as an actual challenger, and she wasn't a challenger as far as he could tell. "Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""I understand. Thank you for your help, that was all I wished to know at this time." At least if Jack's question made him sound foolish, the other man was polite enough not to mention it.
He tapped the little silver band on his wrist once more, and the display again lit up. Before he began, though, he looked over to the little girl sitting beside Rey. Flandre, she had said her name was.
"I am pleased to meet you as well," he said, smiling slightly. "They call me Jack."

Narumi sighed in relief. Though his guard wasn't completely gone. Even if the trinket he held looked ancient, it could still be scanned to see if it's alien.
