Rey chuckled, coming over and popping open one of the beers, handing it to him, then taking one for himself before settling cross-legged on the floor, putting the pack down for anyone else who wanted one. "Man. This is like a million times better than the rush after the night of a big show. Because this is like...knowing what you did just actually MEANT something..."
Vezon paused in mid wander. "An interesting question, Kimimaro. And while we're at it, where's Hahli-san?"

"True," Jack agreed with Rey. "However, regardless of the good we have done, we are still prisoners. There is a question I have meant to ask since I arrived. At any time, have you all refused to participate in whatever challenge they set before you?"
"Jack, I've been kicking and screaming since we got here, and some of the others have been here even longer than me." He took a long swig from his beer. "Some people seem like they go home...we saw Eddie go home, others just...kind of disappear." He shrugged. "But so far there's nothing we can do about it...I figure why not try to enjoy the few good things about this while we have to deal with it."
—Saren stalks over to the offline computer... Then the illumination of the entire chamber flickers and dies.—
"With that, I cannot argue. Indeed, I am in favor of such thoughts. I only meant that if all of us continued to refuse to participate, the Nomads might lose their interest and send us home."
"Wouldn't that just set them off, though?" Samara questioned as she walked over and sat down with Dex-Starr.
Rey remained silent a moment, then raised his voice just slightly.
"Saren, what are you up to over there?"
"It might," Jack conceded. "However, it does not seem to fit what I have heard and seen of them. They brought us here because they wish to be amused, not out of a desire to harm us in some way. They do not have personal issues with us, so far as I know. This being the case, they should have no desire to harm us if we refuse to amuse them. They might simply return us home and kidnap others. If I could fight them, I would, but I have heard they are much too powerful to defeat in pitched battle."
The Doctor walks to Rey. "Hey. Where'd you get the beer?"
I did Nothing.
—The lights remain off, and a faint iron tang reaches the noses and tongues of those present.—
"Or perhaps they're just being cats with us as mice - playing with us before they 'eat' us."
He noticed the scent. "Blood?"

Gordon looked around, and slowly reached for his shotgun.
"Not this bullshit again..." he muttered.
Blink looked wildly around, then fumbled in her pockets and pulled out a glostick, which illuminated her immediate area. "Hey, what the heck happened?"
-The Dullahan shows no reaction.-
-Isaac went to sleep some time ago.-
Rey is silent, but the others would be able to see two glowing red orbs flare to light as he slowly got to his feet. "Okay. You know, it takes a lot to actually make me mad...it REALLY does. But I think I'm starting to get seriously pissed off."

—An almost tangible feeling of ill-will and contempt presses down on the prisoners, but most of all on Blink in particular. Then the lights snap back on, but dimmer, with a yellowish cast. Written on the floor in an odd red powder are words—
YOU CANNOT HIDE FOREVER
"...Weee're standing in plain sight here, pal, not hiding. Or at least we would be if you didn't shut the lights off. Nincompoop."
"What was that all about?"
Blink winced at the pressure, and cracked her glostick again, turning it off and tucking it away. She stared at the red powder message... and tilted her head. "Umm... wha?"
Gordon stood up, cocking his shotgun and peering over at the message. "Huh. Well, isn't that just special."
Raz stared at the writing. "That doesn't look good."
Jack looked up at the ceiling, scowling.
"I have never hidden from you. What do you mean by this?"
"I don't like it."
Spriggan got the karambit knife out. "It might be even in here..."
Rey walked over to glare down at the writing on the floor, staring at it. "You know, in the words of an old running buddy of mine..." He casually raised both middle fingers to the words, as though they were the offender themselves.
"If it's that weird monster from when we looked at the Tokyo-3 maps..." Narumi said, whipping out his Skull Memory.
