"Wouldn't risk it, if I were you; boss-man's got one helluva temper, if you get him mad enough. And right now? He's mad like you wouldn't believe. So go take a nap, Calvin, for your own sake."
Some time later,
the group had finished running their laps. Ravage, due to his mechanical nature, was not tired; he could have run a far greater distance than that and still not lost his stamina. He was a little burnt, however; a close brush with Dex-Starr's flames had singed his face, souring the Predacon's mood.
Dis Baba was the only one still running; he had three more laps to complete before the Invigilators would allow him to stop. The alien was walking rather slowly at this point, his breathing heavy; whatever talents and strengths he may have possessed, endurance running was clearly not amongst their number.
As for the Invigilators themselves, most of them had left already; only a single one remained, and he was jiving in place as he waited for Dis Baba to finish.
The Danse Macabre CodexDex-Starr was the first one who managed to finish all the laps, with Ravage a close second. However, being a simple housecat who could not communicate verbally with everyone, no one knew this. Also like a housecat, Dex-Starr did not at all care about it anyway. Tired after all the running, he decided to take a quick power snooze right on the track.

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HITTING HELPY!!Jack nodded. In some small way, he did enjoy the exercise, his journey not allowing him many opportunities for extended training periods, but it was more than tempered by the knowledge that this and who knew what else was forced upon him.
"Indeed," he said quietly. "You also acquitted yourself well. But this was only the beginning. I fear we will face further hardship soon enough."
A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent upon arriving. -Lao TzuYuuka, upon completing her first lap walking, left her umbrella at the finish line.
Having decided not to waste too much time on the exercise, she broke into a full on sprint for the remaining nineteen rounds, never breaking or faltering. Her legs stretched over great bounds and covered the tracks with ease- practically gliding along the ground. Her form was a supernatural body deceptive of her typical nature.
She picked up her parasol on the way off the track and let out a sigh.

Rey had gotten up when the track appeared, and simply ran alongside the others with no comment. He was a professional athlete, after all, and he was used to wrestling hour-long matches on command, so simple runs weren't anything much. Once he had finished, he'd returned to the spot on the wall he had previously taken and sat back down, going through a series of stretches, apparently cooling himself down from the exercise, keeping his eyes closed.
Easing back into life one step at a timeThe one at whom Bowser was snapping his fingers ignored him at first, but after a moment he spun around, stepped right up to the Koopa King and clapped his hands—loudly—right in Bowser's face.
"Ever heard o' the word 'please', Donatello?"
The Danse Macabre Codex-in a newly formed room, a lanky girl in a labcoat with two steel electrodes on the sides of her head, and stitches covering her face
◊ regained consciousness-
Hmmm...?
-the room resembled a Mad Scientist Laboratory-
Strange. It seems familiar, but not quite the same...
-she rose to her feet and exited the room, and observed the madness without- 'Without what?
Excuse me... could someone tell me where I am?
Despite himself, Rey snorted loudly at the "Donatello" crack, then immediately turned away, covering his mouth and trying not to laugh.
He glanced up at the new entrant, and frowned slightly, glancing around. "Guys, 'nother newbie..."

Easing back into life one step at a timeGordon, who had since returned to her notes, casually looked up and spotted the girl. "Huh. A newcomer. I'm really not in the mood to explain all this shit to her right now."
Blink cheerfully reappeared in the main room, now that the race was over. She looked around curiously, and her eyes quickly cast themselves over the newly-arrived girl.
"Whoa, are those electrodes in your head?" she asked, taking a closer looked. "And stitches... Are you a cyborg of some kind?!"

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."

One of the other Invigilators sighed in annoyance. "Idiots..."
The disco fiend placed a hand on Hobbes' shoulder, and with a sudden POP!, the tiger's bandanna disappeared...as did his powers. Another one picked him up by the scruff of his neck and held him up to his face; the silver-clad, afro-haired man was no longer smiling.
"Now listen up, you little runt; you and your friend may have forced your way into this place under your own power, but now that you're here, you play by the rules. If you don't, the monster in the basement is always hungry; I hear she's got a taste for the naughty little boys and their furry feline friends."
Optics widening in alarm, Ravage locked his legs down and skidded to a halt just short of the flames. He had no interest in being burned, that was for sure, and he quietly switched into another lane.
That was...what, three laps now?
