The octopus shied away from the jet, transposing a tentacle between its eye and the hot water in order to intercept Eddie's attack. A fourth tentacle darted out to swat at Saren.
The Danse Macabre CodexKirby watched with horror as the octopus lashed out with its tentacles. Unfortunately, he was all but helpless in this situation: hammer wouldn't work and ramming would be a silly idea, even for the pink puffball.
"Bloyo, bloy, bloyo?" <Now what?>
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValSuddenly the Star Warrior had an idea. Dismounting his Warpstar, he looked at it sorrowfully.
"Bloy... Bloyo bloy bloyooooo..." <Sorry about this, friend...>
Swinging back his hammer, Kirby hit the Warpstar like it was a giant baseball, aiming for the creature's eyes.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior Val....That's a big octopus.
Travis reflexively ignited his Blood Berry, before remembering that he was still underwater. To his surprise though, he didn't get fried, and the weapon worked perfectly, the beam ignited with a stream of boiling water. He grinned and waved the weapon around, boiling more water, before waiting for a tentacle to get close enough for him to slice.
The octopus recoiled as several bullets struck its eye. A tentacle swept upward to cradle the wounded organ, while the one holding Ravage unfurled to release the Decepticon.
Ravage, for his part, jetted over to Hahli and began hacking away at the appendage ensnaring her, to little effect.

The Danse Macabre CodexThe giant monster shuddered as Kirby's warp star struck its other eye, its tentacles flailing about in the unexpected current, and then the beast was moving across the ceiling at an impressive speed, vanishing into the darkness ahead.
The Danse Macabre CodexWhat the?!
Jorge whirled around to see Kirby. Where did you come from? What was that?!

Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)A low rumble, amplified by the water, came from further into the cave, and large boulders began to fall from the ceiling.
Numerous tentacles wound around the submarine, stopping it cold.

The Danse Macabre CodexGordon caught up to the others in time to see the octopus retreat.
What'd I miss?
As the boulders began to fall, Gordon got out his Gravity Gun, prepared to do some heavy lifting, if he could.

"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."The submarine came hurtling out of the darkness,
its propellers mangled and parts of it crushed pretty badly. The octopus followed after a moment later, a tentacle lashing out to pin Saren to the cave wall.

The Danse Macabre CodexShit, that thing is big. Why does it have to be deep sea creatures?
Gordon fired his pulse rifle at the attacking tentacle. Upon seeing that do little, he brought out a much more powerful weapon.
His rocket launcher. He aimed the weapon as close to the origin of the tentacle as he could, and fired.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."The missile struck the tentacle right at its base, and the octopus shuddered as its appendage was torn free by the muffled explosion. Then Craft's laser struck it in the eye, and the beast propelled itself off the cave floor, spreading its tentacles wide to disgorge a vast, blinding cloud of ink.
Ravage snarled and flailed in confusion as his optic sensors went dead for a moment. He felt something enormous and clammy brush past him, heading out of the cave; when his optics rebooted a moment later, he caught a brief glimpse of the octopus swimming away into the sea.
"Well, that's a relief. Now to find that blasted dolphin."
The Danse Macabre Codex

The octopus--a truly massive thing perched just over the cave mouth--did not react at all to Saren's sonic assault beyond a faint quivering.
Most likely, this was because all octopi are completely deaf; had it been capable of hearing the turian's note as well as feeling it, this might have driven the beast off.
When Hahli's blade swung forward to cut the tentacle, the sucker-covered appendage clutching Ravage shuddered slightly, but resisted its sharp edge; she merely slammed the tentacle, nothing more.
Ravage's frenzied attempts to claw and rend the tentacle had no more success, and in fact seemed only to make the gargantuan cephalopod angry; it fixed an enormous, bulbous eye on the Toa Mahri of Water, and another tentacle darted out to ensnare her.
