“Mach Caliber, deploy wheels.”
“Yes Master.” And Subaru was once again rolling. This time away from the facility. She had gotten the ship away safely, and everyone had gotten away. She wondered if Six would have felt the same. Staying behind…Subaru slowed...staying behind was a death sentence and he had known it. She had known it too. Subaru spied a bunch of ruined UNSC structures a short distance off and made her way towards them. With any luck, she might find some UNSC soldiers to hole up with.
Alas, it was not to be…
Subaru slowly made her way in between the ruined structures. The place had obviously been attacked and she personally didn’t think that there was much chance of finding anyone alive. She came to a round tower like platform that had a flagpole upon it. The UNSC standard was still flying, moving gently in the breeze. The battlecruiser had caused a lot of dust to fly up into the air when it had hit the ground, so her long range visibility was limited. Subaru made her way up to the platform, and sadly noted the fallen UNSC soldiers who had died here not too long ago. With a sigh, she sat down on the stairs, and noticing a canteen that someone had dropped, picked it up.
Shaking it slightly, Subaru felt and heard liquid slosh in the bottom, so she opened it and sniffed, and then took a long drink of water.
“Thanks.” She said to no one in particular, just thankful for the water.
She was still holding onto the canteen when she heard them. Long off but approaching. That unmistakable whine of Covenant anti-gravity engines.
“Guess I can’t catch a break…”
Subaru stood up, and quietly put the lid back on the canteen. Dropping it to the steel deck, Subaru flexed her shoulders and then each of her legs. She ached from the strain of the near constant battles, but she could still go on. She wouldn’t quit, that was way too easy.
Back in the common room, Subaru had not reappeared with the rest of the challangers. Indeed, the screens instead now focused on her, standing alone in the midst of the ruined UNSC structures.
-The main challenge ended, the beast was hurled out of limbo and back into the empty corridor which it had originally been sent to, a great distance from the central room. Hunger, rage and confusion combined in its brain, and it lapsed into merciful unconsciousness. As it collapsed, the psychosensitive receivers in the walls and surfaces interpreted its memories and sent the corresponding orders to the environment. Within minutes, the beast was sleeping submerged in muddy water, shadowed by moss-covered trunks. Very slowly, the imagined swamp started to spread out.-
"Bah, this isn't enough for a snack!" Natsu opened his mouth wide as PHANTOM fired at him, and chewed the lasers aimed at him after catching it in his mouth, munching on it. "Great taste though." He chewed the lasers some more and patted his stomach. "Thanks for the grub." Natsu grinned to the machine.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Subaru was standing there as the various Phantoms and Spirit’s were dropping off troops into the haze. She stared on resolutely ahead, not flinching. She could hear the chattering as the Covenant closed in.
“Heh…never imagined I would die on an Alien world like this…but I guess no one lives forever.”
Subaru was still standing there when the first Elite came into view. It was colored white, designating it as a commander. It gestured to her, and then two other Elites, ones in blue armor and a pack of Grunts rushed her. Subaru met them head on. Her shield was raised as the plasma bolts from the horde smashed into it, and she struck them like a battering ram.
“REVOLVER CANNON!” That did it for the first Elite, sending it smashing back and into a rock with a sick crunch, breaking the creature’s back. Subaru didn’t bother with a special attack for the other Elite, instead ducking in close, she repeated her previous trick of grabbing the mandibles of the Elite and pulling it down into a knee strike that broke its face in several spots, and then another hard blow busted its neck and it went down. The Grunts…well…she was a blender and they were carrots.
But the last Grunt…he mustered up his bravery and charged, and pulled both his plasma grenades. Subaru’s eyes widened and she swung up a shield…just in the nick of time. The Kamikaze Grunt exploded, but her shield held.
DANGER! DANGER! SHEILDS COLLAPSING!
Her device was almost screaming warnings in her head,
“…Override Mach Caliber.” Subaru grunted as she got back to her feet, and faced the last opponent she could see, the charging Elite Commander. He rushed her in a rage, and tried to smash his concussion rifle over Subaru’s head. Subaru side stepped and slammed her fist into his gut,
“REVOLVER CANNON!” And the Commander Elite went flying also. She smiled a little, but without any humor.
“Anyone Else?”
Then another Elite stepped out of the dust. This one was different. His armor was a deeper gold. Subaru brought up her left fist and made the universal sign with all of her fingers,
“Bring it on.”
Naoto stumbled out of her room and looked around, recognizing the hallway she was in. The detective slowly walked down the hall, hardly believing that they were finally back. She stepped into the common room and looked around, not recognizing anyone there. She edged over to Gordon Freeman and said "it is good to see that you are alright doctor Freeman."
"Pop quiz: what state of matter is fire? Is it a gas, a liquid, or a solid?" Natsu waited for a few moments, wreathing himself in orange flames and absorbing the plasma shots, his fire wall growing bigger. "The answer is none of the above, fire is the fourth state of matter, plasma." Natsu reabsorbed all the flames, breathing steam. "Though I wish you would use normal fire instead of this kind of plasma, it's like junk food to me." Natsu said, feeling a little sick to his stomach.
Always be ready to do the unusual and unexpected.Dis Baba swept his gaze across the new arrivals, blinking once. "Ah, then you must be the characters whose exploits were depicted on the monitor screens," he said to no one in particular. "A pleasure to meet you...I'm sorry, I don't recall your names?"

The Danse Macabre Codex"Who the hell is Spades, Droll? Are you roleplaying again?"
Jackspers poked the former Courtyard Droll with a tentacle.
New RP!The Elite didn’t say anything, but he pointed at Subaru. And then the others came out of the dust. There were a dozen of them. All clad in red armor. Zealots.
They all rushed Subaru as a line, their long legs eating up the distance.
She settled back into her combat stance. A blue glow appeared around her fist.
“Divine…” She suddenly punched outwards,
“BUSTER!” The resulting blast sent six of the Elites scattering, but the others on the outskirts kept coming in the wake of the blast. Subaru stood her ground as they came. The first one swung an energy sword at her. Decided to test Sword Breaker, Subaru’s left hand caught the pommel of the weapon…and survived. Thinking to thank the developers if she ever got the chance, Subaru didn’t waste a motion and slugged the Elite full in the face with her right fist, smashing it in and dropping the Elite. But she didn’t stop there. Fast as a wink, Subaru snatched up the pommel of the now deactivated sword and relit it, holding it in her left hand. The remaining five Elite’s snarled, their words unintelligible to Subaru but most likely disgust at her defiling a holy weapon. The two on the left suddenly pounced, but the smaller cyborg ducked under their blows and smashed the sword into one, driving it all the way to the hilt, before yelling,
“REVOLVER CANNON!” and blasting the other one. She spun around, just in time to parry the thrust from another Elite. She was running out of energy and fast. As she shoved the Elite away, Subaru slashed across its chest and dropped it, before settling into a guard stance against the remaining two. They were more cautious, but came on all the same.
"Oh..." Natsu clutched his stomach as the deed of eating laser plasma came back to haunt him. He stumbled around trying to hold it in. Unfortunately, one of the lasers hit his knee, charring the skin a little and eliciting an open mouth due to pain.
"Blargh!" He then threw up the excess energy as a flaming beam of destruction at PHANTOM. He then slumped on the floor, suffering from food poisoning.

Raz turned to the returned champions. "You're back! Good job guys. Too bad I wasn't there."
