"That's enough!" Optimus said sternly, placing a hand on Saren's shoulder in a grip of literal and figurative iron. "These Decepticons are down for the count, soldier; don't sink to their level by desecrating the dead in this fashion."
The Danse Macabre CodexOptimus narrowed his optics at the turian's obvious barely-restrained bloodlust. he did not answer Saren, instead bending over to retrieve a small rifle with a curved, side-loading stock
from the hands of a bisected Decepticon at his feet.
"Stock up, Autobots," he called to the others, slotting the gun into place on his right hand. "We can't rely on close-quarters weapons alone if we want to rescue Zeta Prime."
Sideswipe, meanwhile, had gone ahead, and busied himself with opening a locked blast door which lay just around a bend in the corridor. Ravage paced behind the brown-and-white Autobot, impatience evident. "Can't you go any faster? There could be any number of sentries beyond this door."
"Can it, kitty kat, I'm working here!"

The Danse Macabre CodexJorge had just finished dealing with one of the guards. The bot's head had caved in, thanks to his hammer. He watched Saren with disdain. The turian never changed. The Spartan said nothing as he retrieved a neutron assault rifle.
He'd keep the Scrapmaker on backup until he found ammo for it.

Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)"Door's open," Sideswipe announced with just a hint of satisfaction. Sure enough, the blast door's component halves slid into with wall with a loud groan, revealing a small control center of some sort.
A single Decepticon guard whirled and opened fire on the intruders with his assault rifle, dashing for a large red button that was almost certainly an alarm.
The Danse Macabre CodexThe guard swiftly came apart under Hahli's fire, just short of the alarm. Ravage bounded into the control centre, optics scanning the shadows for any other Decepticons who might still be hiding within.
"All clear," the jaguar announced...just as something barely visible flickered across his field of vision. He blinked, looking for the source of this odd optical distortion, but found nothing. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
"Revise that," he amended. "And stay alert."
Optimus entered the control centre, moving over to a large window set into the right wall. It offered him an excellent view of a massive chasm just outside, its depths obscured by the heavy rainfall and a thick purple fog, and he squinted, activating an optical zoom that allowed him to see hundreds upon hundreds of Autobots milling about in chains on the valley floor.
"The Decepticon prison fields," he growled.
"I've heard stories about this place," Bumblebee whispered, aghast. "But to see it..."
"We can't do anything for them now; this control centre is too far up, and it only leads to those catwalks over there." Optimus pointed to a series of gantries located just outside a door at the far end of the room. "But I promise you, this will not stand."
The Danse Macabre CodexGordon silently collected the dead guard's ammunition and weaponry. The prison yards served only to make a bit more angry, although he was quiet about it the whole time. He couldn't think of anything he could say that would make the challenge go faster, and since that was his current goal, he was quiet for the moment.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up."Sideswipe moved over to one of the consoles. "Alright, let's see if we can't find out where Zeta Prime's being held so we don't have to go through the whole prison. Mind you, we'll probably end up doing that anyway, but hey."
Before he could so much as lay a finger on the keyboard, however, the control centre was suddenly filled with flashing red lights and blaring klaxons. A blast shield slid down over the console's screen and keyboard, and then both receded into the wall.
"Alert! Alert! Unauthorized access in Control Node Lambda. Systems locking down."
"What?!" Ravage snarled in confusion. Then it hit him, and he looked towards the alarm button; even though Gordon was standing right in front of it, something had managed to activate it without being seen.
The Danse Macabre CodexJorge gazed down at the fields, disgusted. "Slavery. Unsurprising. Doesn't make it any less unpleasant."
When the alarm was sounded, Jorge hastily looked around for the one who triggered it, but, oddly enough, there were no Decepticons in sight.
"This just keeps getting better and better...what the hell is a tachyon, Saren?"
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)Saren's shots failed to hit anything, and a heavy weight abruptly landed on the turian's shoulders. Something—or rather, someone—invisible wrapped legs around the ex-Spectre's throat, and a large device was shoved against the side of his face.
"Weapon ready to fiyah," a snide voice sneered in Saren's ear as whatever weapon was pressed up against his face began to spin, glow and grow exceedingly hot...
Optimus and Bumblebee backed away from the window as its pane began to retract into the floor—and guards stationed on the gantries outside began to fire into the control center.
The Danse Macabre CodexJorge stared at Saren, dumbfounded, as he struggled against his invisible opponent.
"...Okay, what are you do-"
He flinched as the guards outside opened fire.
"Dammit," He blurted as he took cover. "Return fire! Surpress those hostiles!" Jorge stepped out to fire a long burst with his assault rifle.
Jagged Alliance 2 LP (Redux) (Closed!)The Cloaker struggled in an effort to evade Saren's tentacles, causing his shot to go wild. A crackling ball of plasma flared less than an inch from Saren's face, streaking into a wall and leaving a large scorch mark.
"Weapons too hot!" the invisible Decepticon yelped before springing off of Saren with a vicious kick.
Sideswipe opened the door and joined Jorge at the control centre's entrance, pouring fire into the guards with quick bursts of his photon burst rifle. The first Decepticon went down quickly to their combined fire, but the others simply staggered under the shots and continued to advance; they seemed to be wearing an odd form of solid light-based body armour.
The Danse Macabre CodexThe weapon Gordon had picked up appeared to be some sort of assault rifle. He fired at the guards, noting the shields they were using. He'd never fought actual enemies with shields, although he had encountered shield walls.
"Does anyone have anything capable of producing an EMP?!" He yelled over the gunfire.
"Oh, dear. The toad, the monkey, and the dog have all screwed up.""I do," said Optimus. He stepped up to the doorway and hurled a small grenade amongst the Decepticons, who for their part were too preoccupied with returning fire to notice.
The EMP detonated a second later, and yellow energy crackled along the guards' chassis as they were suddenly lifted several feet into the air, shuddering as they attempted to reboot their systems.
Ravage darted outside, tackling the nearest Decepticon out of the air with a snarl. "Thought you'd recycle me, did you?!" he roared as he began to maul and savage the insensate guard with all the pent-up fury that today's little experience had instilled in him.
The Danse Macabre Codex"Shields, eh? Don't worry, their shields will give out with enough fire!"
Click.
"Reloading," Jorge yelled as he stepped back into cover to do just that. He looked at Sideswipe and nodded.
"They keep coming, we'll keep killing."
He kept firing.
