IJAM that men have a broad range of physical attractiveness, that is possible to a guy be hot if he is thin, muscular or even kinda of fat, but manly.

YMMV, although I understand that this thread refers to general social views rather than particulars.

Women get the short end of the stick here, given that there's only a few narrow ideas of what an attractive women is in Western media.

Is a bit of personal view and social views, either way, men do get more "options".

I enjoy the attractiveness of males, though I have a heavy preference for slim men.

Lacking the relevant hormones, I'm always at a loss for what constitutes a good looking guy. It's also awkward to ask women if a guy is good looking.

I would argue however, that there isn't a narrow definetion of what makes a woman attractive, just a narrow definition of what looks will get a woman into the media.

Is it that awkward? I wouldn't have a problem telling a man, if he asked, if I found another man attractive. Sometimes, they're surprised.

As for women, yes, the media has an idea of constitutes attractiveness in a woman, but the tastes of an individual man may well differ.

When I'm talking to my male friends, very few women will be mentioned without some sort of positive remark. I don't think it's an "individual" male thing, I think it's that there's a fairly universal ideal that's easy to select for.

Feel free to post. My original intention was to say how there is a broader range of male hotness, that includes slim guys too.

^Seconded, all of these pictures and guys are presenting an idealized version of the male image, further reinforcing the ideas of what a man should be.

I'd say you still had more of a variety than women do. Those guys up thread have a thing for the hairy and muscular. I like slim, even skinny guys (although muscle is nice, too much is, well, too much). So that is more variety than thin, blonde, possibly breast implants.
