That was kinda interesting seeing meisters and weapons starting out fresh, given the characters in the main series were all well-established pairs and fighters... Well they often do stupid/immature things, but the main kids were used to the idea of fighting with a partner and pretty well indoctrinated mentally from the beginning. Now we see a weapon transforming for the first time and a dude wishing for a female partner just to have fun sharing the same room. Ahh youthfulness.
Pair formations are about to happen, and we might get to see how students do their first soul resonance! Even though it may not be on the main series characters, I like seeing these kinds of in-world details.
I wonder if the NOT series is going to be focused on showing various aspects of DWMA life and meister/weapon relationship or it's going to have a big plot moving separately. Personally I wouldn't mind either... It's a spinoff, so I'd be perfectly content with light hearted slice-of-life episodes as long as it's reasonably interesting read.
My only concern is Ohkubo straining himself too much drawing two series and having quality drop on the main series. I hope he knows better than that...

'Twas fun and cute. I like it. Relaxing, compared to the intensity of the original (I mean, they skewer freaking Freddie as their first mision! And then they EAT him!).
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?http://www.mangareader.net/soul-eater/83
New chapter.
Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHKThe amount of spelling mistakes in that chapter makes my eyes hurt. "Shinbunsen"? "Pinch Black"? God, who are these people?
The translation is stiff and IKEA-like.
This a move that used the black blood.

Hmm. Certainly things like Kim being a witch aren't treated as seriously as they were in the main series. Also, Everyone Is Bi seems to be in full effect. But there isn't anything that outright contradicts the main series canon.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information.I don't know. If she's 14 and Maka's her sempai, who old is Maka supposed to be then? Is sempai used for someone older than you or someone who's in a higher class level than you?
Imagine Rakan applying Calling Your Attacks to doing paperwork.~Anarchy Rakan for the hell of it COMMISSION THIS BRIDGE!~EHK"Senpai" doesn't necessarily mean "older". It just means that person is more experienced than you.
Oh hey, they actually used "The Tower" for disaster instead of Death. Nice!
wtf dorm superintendent

Doesn't really feel like K On to me. Only real similarity is the main character looking like Azusa

He means Not! specifically, not Soul Eater itself.
Likewise; all they have in common is being a Slice of Life series and having an all-female main cast, which there are plenty of and K-On! was not the first to have. Plus what little I've seen of K-On! didn't have anything nearly as weird as someone who fights in their sleep or tries to force people to be like character's from their favorite novel.

I believe so (it has the same watermark).
Anyway, back to the actual chapter: it's nice to see what routine the students go through. I didn't know they had a dorm, but I guess not everyone can afford an apartment like Crona and Maka (and assumably Black Star and Tsubaki).
Also, I don't live on my own or in Nevada, so does anyone know if that's about how much someone would spend a week (not counting board).

That seems like something Shinigami would come up with.
it'll be kind of cool seeing a new student work their way through the ranks too, and also cool to see how it crosses over with the main storyline if at all.
