You were getting tired out it weeks ago. Shouldn't you be tired of it by now? It's just a simple fact that Hato is the main character and Hato's struggle is the main plot. Just look at the opening.

Its okay when the show focuses on other aspects of otakudom like S1 did (The Comicon episode was my favorite episode this season, for example)
But this episode was just Hato lusting over Madarame.

While talking about erogames. Which are an aspect of otakudom entirely unrelated to Hato or BL.
While Hato fantasized about BL.
Thorn, if it bothers you that much, stop watching the series?
Or at the least skip the rest of this season.
Because it still has good characters and good episodes (Like I said, the Comiket episode was good)
Hato is indeed the protagonist now, and whilst I haven't been following the manga past this point, I can see how the season will continue.
Hato realises his dream of becoming a BL mangaka but finds himself caught up in a deadly war against the bishoujo fandom. The stress drives him away from his normal friends and Madarame. The Genshiken circle turns inwards, and everyone in it drives into isolation as each becomes absorbed into making their own signature manga as the recession deepens. Meanwhile their art spills into the real world because Ogiue told a lie about her favourite baseball bat being taken away by a dog. In the finale all of humanity is lost in the panels and their bodies dissolve into ink. At that point Madarame comes back and decides to make his signature manga about a world where everyone can live again, only now otakus' skills are in demand and they have hope. But since he has to write the manga he can never be part of it, and only Hato remembers him.
Oh who am I kidding, Madarame can't write like that. They would be locked in an eroge.
....You like making dark fan fiction, don't you? And I don't mind Hato is the main character, what I do mind is when Hato takes up 90% of an episode. The other character just end up becoming...well background characters to support his story. And I don't think that works in a story like Genshiken.

MOAR YAJIMA!
So I'm up to date up through Chapter 90 of the manga now. Kuchiki is almost useful for a moment?!? THIS CANNOT BE!
Episode 9 of The Hato Show is out now.
I've always liked the way Kon's eyes are drawn. It survives animation, I guess.
Things are getting intense.
I rather liked this episode with the old friends coming over the festival and things getting set up for quite a big event. Damn, Madarame, Saki, Kohsaka, Hato and the girl that is the source of his trauma all under one roof? How can Sue save the day here?
Much better episode.
Plus it had Horizon cosplays!
"He came...but the atmosphere here probably makes it hard for him."
Having read the manga, when I saw this line in the anime I went "Oh don't worry about Madarame, it's gonna be a lot harder for you to sit around in there in a few minutes."
At That Ending
WELP
AND OH LOOK WHO IT IS WHO OPENS HIS GIGANTIC MOUTH AND RUINS EVERYTHING YET AGAIN.

In recent chapters, he manages to salvage himself a bit by actually being useful for once ... sorta.
Well, that developed in a way with a lot less drama than I thought. Now we know Hato's origins and what happened in the club... and it was a lot milder than I expected. Given Kaminaga's looks and aura, I thought she would be kind of a villain but she's quite nice actually. But from awkwardness we fall right into a new one... "You lolicon!"
That was a good last episode.
This episode.
Damn.
This episode.
We might have had a future together. He's free now
Damn you Kohsaka, cock blockin Madarame!
Well...The impact in the anime isn't quite as big as the manga for this scene(Then again, me knowing what was gonna happen probably didn't help), but still...
That day, you had a nosehair sticking out. ;_;
That's not something you should say with tears in your eyes.
D'aww, thatw as nice.
Although Saki mentall counting Madarame's haremettes was funny too.
I'm getting quite tired of all the BL and Hato focus.
