Because of a combination of incidents including a broken toe and an over the summer move, I'm not going to be able to go back to my old camp this summer. For the first time in 16 years, my summer will be camp-less, trapped in the city away from the outdoors. I'm suffering from legitimate withdrawal symptoms. So to cope a bit I updated my signature to one of the songs we sang frequently: "Swimming to the Other Side" by Pat Humphries (though this version was performed by Elaine Silver), complete with an inside joke involving a canoe. The city isn't...that bad...right?
My hope to be The Pollyanna.

"Be happy for this moment. This moment is your life." ~ Omar KhayyamIt's one of my favourite quotes from The Room. Actually, there are loads of other great quotes I like, but this sort of stands out from the rest.
"Keep your stupid comments in your pocket!"This line isn't actually as bad as it sounds. Plas has been invited to join the Freedoms Fighters and is reassuring Batman he'll be fine despite not actually sharing their beliefs. He goes on to explain that he just wants to feel part of something for once.
You need blood and he's got more than enough!I thought it would be a good funny one to go with my favorite season: summer.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!<<Do I remind you of someone else?>>

Still waiting for someone to break him free...Plas engages in some punning in the video game of Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
And then, yanno, checks to make sure Batman got the joke. It's alright, Plas, I'm sure he needed the explanation...
You need blood and he's got more than enough!It's a line from Full Metal Jacket and a reference to the fact that I only really remain functional if I'm regularly exposed to dangerous situations.
'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'The repeated lines of the coda to "Vito's Ordination Song" by Sufjan Stevens.
"If you spend all your heart / On something that has died / You are not alive and that can't be a life"Reference to The Riddler's first episode in Batman: The Animated Series. He didn't react particularly well to that question the first time, so he's not gonna react well to it now.
You need blood and he's got more than enough!@Inverurie Jones: Also an Ironic Echo of the last line from Flannery O Connor's "A Good Man is Hard to Find." (Another story Sufjan Stevens wrote a song about, by coincidence.)

I love that quote in general. And I've always hated that question.

Mine is pretty straightforward.

Novel progress: The Adroan, 110k; Yume no Hime, 98k; The Pigeon Witch, on pause at 40k.My signature's a quote from my favorite character from my favorite game.
It's my take on Kaiser Oblivion's attitude from Bravely Second, applying to my own belief that anyone can manage anything they care enough about. The potholed Screw Destiny says it all.
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!USMC voiceover line from Battlefield 3. Seemed appropriate for 2015. And 2016.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotNecroing because I can’t find a more recent thread on the same topic.
I just finished watching Our Planet on Netflix & thought it was appropriate.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.

I've been on a W. B. Yeats kick recently: this one is from An Irish Airman Foresees his Death. It'd work better if they hadn't gotten rid of line breaks in signatures.
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate,
Those that I guard I do not love;
My country is Kiltartan Cross,
My countrymen Kiltartan's poor,
No likely end could bring them loss
Or leave them happier than before.
Nor law, nor duty bade me fight,
Nor public man, nor cheering crowds,
A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath,
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.
