I'm being terribly self-indulgent and quoting a line from the novel I'm writing. I have a character, Claire Ashecroft, who's a Bottle Fairy, Cool Big Sis, Playful Hacker, Gamer Chick, and a Lethal Chef who can't even make coffee. In one scene, she spoiled a moment between the main character and his love interest by stumbling into the living room, still somewhat drunk, and muttering, "Can't sleep. Clown will eat me."
When the love interest asks Claire why clowns are Nightmare Fuel for her, Claire offers the line I use in my sig as an explanation.

"I kind of pegged EVH as sounding like Jack Nicholson's alcoholic Anglophile dad." —Furiko MaruBucking my quotes-from-songs trend, this one is from a Tachikoma in the third episode of Ghost In The Shell Standalone Complex.
Pokemon Memetic Mutation parodying the gender topics' discussions of skirts.

Because everything's better when you're quoting Douglas Adams. Specifically from The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe, second book of the Hitchhikers Guide series.
Listen to Music with Tropers at The Troper Turntable!Super Negative Troper is a take off on Super Negative Teacher. Also it's an accurate description.
@Fawriel: Seriously that made me lol. When I look back at my last post it has a bit more bite than I intended. Yeah I dislike sigs, but in the same sense that people dislike red traffic lights when they are in a hurry. I don't like 'em, but I understand why people use them and know I can't do anything about it(well except joining forums where sigs are disabled).
Mine's basically just a friendly warning; if anyone acts too Hot-Blooded or makes a lot of obscure references to things I like or is just generally the coolness... *gains a certain rosy hue*
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Be glad that at least images are disabled... Even the biggest wall of text signature here is nothing compared to the 3 MB wallpapers that some people use as sigs in most forums.
Is that why you nearly squeed when I mentioned having seen Dark City?
"I kind of pegged EVH as sounding like Jack Nicholson's alcoholic Anglophile dad." —Furiko MaruWhaddyamean nearly? Don't sweat it, I don't go after married/attached guys - that's a matter of policy.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Oh, no, you misunderstand - that's not me being noble, that's me being selfish. I don't share well at all.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!My current signature praises Éclair from Kiddy Grade for her idealism and determination. And advertises her catchphrase.

My signature comes from a certain Crowning Moment Of Awesome panel in the ninth volume of Battle Angel Alita.
Feedback Of Heteronormative Gender Stereotypes in AnimeMine is a quote from a hyper-dimensional meta-entity connected with a little-known Deus Ex mod.
I changed my signature to this after getting out of the shower a couple of days ago, walking into the living room, and shouting it for no reason.
No one else in my house speaks any Japanese.
Incidentally, it's Mahoro's Catchphrase from Mahoromatic, most commonly translated as "I think dirty thoughts are bad!"
the dice are loaded, the deck is stacked, the game itself will hold you back

I'm going to buck the trend and state that I have a quiet hatred of signatures. Mostly because of how they change posts, adding on a little bit of useless fluff, almost always irrelevant to the topic(yes even the typical second page thread derail) at hand. Yeah sure the signature may be funny or thought provoking the first time it is read, but afterward it is merely a waste of space that makes reading a thread more irritating*. Yes I understand that people use them to plug things they like, but really the personal profile page seems like a much better place to do that. Comes off a lot less like spam that way.
