Loot Drama sounds fine. Trying to be more specific just adds clunk.

Yeah but this is an MMO-specific trope. The only non-MMO example is Sim City 4 down at the bottom, and that's debatable if it even applies. There's nothing in the description saying it could even apply to anything else except MM Os. For that reason, I think 3 more simple letters to further define the title should be added.

It existed in table top long before MM Os, but the obscure name and the fact that most examples of it happening are probably troper tales would keep examples off the main page.

Yea, in the form of personal Troper Tales, well, anyone who's played Dn D or any other tabletop RPG long enough has a tale about a party that self destructed over a particularly (un)lucky treasure roll.

Strictly limiting this to MM Os would make those tales invalid for this trope.

It would probably be best limited to a general example with stories to be listed on Troper Tales the same as the MM Os are.

hmm, I suppose there are a handful of examples of items treated like this in the fanbase as a whole, but you have a point that many of the examples should be troper tales.

Yeah - probably one of the most infamous recent examples was the incident of the golden wrenches from Team Fortress 2, which is definitely not an MMO in the traditional sense of the word.

What's precedent ever done for us?

We could list the Golden Wrenches, the Ridill, generic entries about rare ships in Eve, Legendary equipment in World Of Warcraft, what else should we list in the main page?

This is all secondary to renaming the trope or not though, have we reached a consensus on that or should we have a rename or not crowner?

[up] thanks, also, can't believe I left Cloudsong off the list of examples to include on the main page.

EDIT: wait, what's The Redrill?

My guild usually calls items that are generally going to be fought over as "High Ticket Items" so maybe go with something along those lines?

Feel free to throw it on the crowner, but I think that might get confused for movie premiers and concerts that are considered "hot tickets"

Don't throw it on the crowner. Or at least not this crowner. And really, a) this is more about the drama than the item itself, and b) big ticket item is a far broader term than this trope and just means anything expensive.

Oi, did we really need the single prop crowner here? No one that I can see is suggesting not to rename and this is one of those cases where it's probably legitimately no contest.

What we really need is the alt title crowner...

it's 18-0 right now and nobody is arguing in favor of the name, I think we can move to the alt. title stage.

Rename is a given. Alternative titles crowner blank is made and hooked: add your name suggestions.

Do we have enough consensus yet?

It's been a month. There's only one positive and it's unanimous. Looks like consensus to me.

Looks like it to me as well. I've moved the discussion page.

Oh, crap. I can't get at the Loot Drama Page to move over the content.

I swapped them. I had to hack the URLs though. The redirects aren't giving the edit link when you use them any more.
