So where would Avenged Sevenfold fit? Would they be considered alt-metal? Nu-Metal? Modern Hard Rock?
Their newer stuff is often classified as New Wave of American Heavy Metal, pretty much an umbrella term for all bands that incorporate modern stylistic elements into the classic metal sound.

Well, I just found out yesterday that Matt Holt, former lead singer of Nothingface, died last Saturday. He was 39. He had been battling a degenerative disease for several years.

This really sucks. I got into these guys near the end of my senior year of High School. They were/are a really cool band. It sucks I'll never get to see them reunite.
