All the other Media fora are doing it, so why not?
Currently waiting for Kingdom Come to get its ass onto the holdshelf so I can check it out. Will it be worth the wait?
I wasn't aware that the Transformers comics were anywhere near as well known as the movies, cartoons, and toys.
On an unrelated note, 5 Ronin was well drawn, but rather pointless. It comes off as though they wrote a story about five medieval Japanese people without superpowers, and then modified it in order to capitalize on the name recognition factor of 616 superheroes.
Two that I can think of: The Dark Knight Returns almost counts; he snaps his neck but doesn't finish the job. Joker kills himself. In the first crossover with Dracula he drinks the Joker's blood.

I've never heard of any Dracula crossover. I guess I shouldn't be suprised considering other things he's fought.

Fantasy Comic Books is live, in case any of you can think of titles we might have missed in the YKTTW.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!I'm not really familiar with those titles, so I would say to use your own judgement based on the "feel" of it.
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!@NUL Lc Hi LD 27 My own personal canon has the Joker dying in the Robot Chicken sketch.
Recently got a hold of Essential Fantastic Four Volume 3, the one that introduces Galactus and the Silver Surfer. Haven't reached that particular story yet, but it's still great so far (except for some printing errors that put the panels too far to the edge of the page, cutting off a little bit of the side (explains why I got it so cheaply).
Superman gets his power from Earth's Yellow Sun, no? Like, the common view is that the body of a Kryptonian works as a sort of Solar Battery, and the Yellow Sun supercharges him? I also know that Krypton itself revolved around a red star, and that didn't give enough energy for Kryptonians on Krypton to be super-powered, at least now I think.
Has any writer written a more cosmic story where Superman is exposed to, say, a blue star?
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."Still reading Fantastic Four, and the Galactus trilogy... holy crap! I loved it! The build-up was amazing, and I never realized how interesting The Silver Surfer and Galactus were as characters.
Still don't like the Surfer's own book, though. Too preachy.
Surfin' the Marvel Wiki and came across this badass pic of Galactus
◊. Anybody know where it's from? (Why couldn't the movie version look that cool?)

No idea what that pic is from, but it reminds me of Annihilation, which I plan on reading. Marvel's Cosmic series have caught my interest recently.
Also, Irredeemable is awesome. I bought the first volume and it's engrossed me like nothing since Watchmen.
I've got two guns pointed west and a broken compass.Read a little graphic novel today called Sidescrollers
. Lots of fun. Made me laugh a lot. The fact that the protagonists reminded me a lot of people I know, as well as all the classic video game references might have helped. Or not. Either way, I liked it.
Just read Wanted and am reading Runaways- interesting how two books with somewhat similar premises could be so different. Mostly, I thought Wanted was trash and I'm not sure how ironically it should be read. It's kind of funny, the intro (by the creator of Runaways iirc) is to the effect that anyone reading it would probably assume that the author was a terrible person.
On the other hand, I'm really liking Runaways. It is quite amusing how the parents will switch off between their supervillainy and being totally normal people.
HodorTo Lucky Revenant: Regarding Superman and multi-colored suns- I know they did at least one story like that back during the Silver age, called "Under the Green Sun." There was an old episode of the Super Powers Animated Series that had his powers cut in half under an orange sun. Writers seem to be divided over weather being under an alternate colored sun would increase or decrease his powers (which would make sense given how his powers are explained) or weather he'd just develop different abilities under different suns. Also, I think the old Valor series had it's hero (a Daxamite, who's powers and physiology are nearly identical to a Kryptonian) develop different powers under different suns.

^ Actually, I'd argue they're most well known for being the publishers of the Transfomrmers comics, both old Marvel era reprints and the current ongoings.
