New Zealand is straight up a slave state to the film industry, and I am never going to be able to watch the Hobbit movies again. @.@
I know some people will be like, "LOL no real loss" but I actually liked the Hobbit films.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.I also liked them. All I can criticize is that there's a good amount of stuff that could have been cut out. Kili and Tauriel's romance, all those shenanigans with the Master and Alfred, the Goblintown bit...
I actually think stuff like adding in Azog and Bolg made the series more compelling, too.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Why would you ever stop watching films just because of some dodgy union negotiations?
That feels like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I think it's worse then "some dodgy union negotiations" a lot worse
New theme music also a boxThe whole thing probably would have come down to a simple quid pro quo negotiation if the public hadn't gotten all hysterical.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"I'd say they should have made either Azog or Bolg the villain, but one of the two was superfluous.

Because I care more about human dignity being violated than about funny movies about dwarves.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Does anyone know what Kili mouths to Tauriel when he's stabbed in BOFTA? Some people say its "I love you" and some saying "amralime"? Seems like both or neither to me.
While I loved Lindsay Ellis' double video essay about the Hobbit films, I found the 3rd part (out of two!) particularly interesting… and disturbing.
It's scary to think that some corporations can become more powerful than nations.
Still, I have a hard time imagining the Hobbit films made elsewhere than NZ. The landscape would obviously be different…
