Coming back to this comic, I'm impressed by how much the plot has moved, how little it has seemed to move, and how the non-plot strips manage to be quite enjoyable and at the same time really unmemorable. I wish Amber would have fewer Fluffy cut-ins, that talk about Fa'lina's physical size could easily be placed into the story (in fact, it would make more sense).

The conspiracy is getting thick. It's especially difficult when one player has powers of prescience, and two are said to be omniscient. In less good fiction the "higher" players' plans would amount to "whatever the author needs them to do", but Amber uses them well. Though I'd like to know how much Pip's plans align with Mab's. He has put a spanner in hers, but seems to be more of a trickster, otherwise Mab wouldn't keep him about.

I have to say that I really don't like Hizell's character design. He has essentially the same face as Aliph plus wing-ears. He isn't properly menacing, nor does he give a feeling of size.

Using "they" to refer to Mink... it's what I recommend, but it still gets me lost the first time I read it.

Somehow I think party fights are going to be the least concerns.

Considering Mink doesn't know what Mink is anymore, it's either always refer to Mink as Mink or they or some unpronounceable made up word that's not in a dictionary.

Congrats to Tape for Dar getting his moment. I may feel that his Comics/Stories (Excluding the title comic oddly enough) Ron/Draco's the Being/Creature relationship a bit much for my tastes but he, and Merlin, still put in a lot of effort to put out a enjoyable product and it's nice to see that get noticed.

Wasn't Matilda one of the few members of her kind living outside the volcano.

Yeah, presumably they were also banished from their tribe.

There's probably more than one volcano. The thing is, if they've got a similar culture, the various volcano tribes won't generally know about each other because of the whole travel issue.

But, banned members of one tribe could find new volcanoes to call home.
