Well I definitely support Goggle Fox.

Like GMH just said... At the least, some existing mods probably should have forum-temp-ban privileges to help stem the tide in case of emergency.

I'm not sure about Norn either. Apart from the points already mentioned, he himself said that he may not really have time to really do an effective job.

I would trust Haven as a mod, if that's what he's sure he wants.

I would support Mod status for Goggle Fox and Haven wholeheartedly.

I don't know what the others have said about it but if Haven is actually volunteering for the job I have no objections.

I think Haven would make an excellent mod.

I don't know about having to form a consensus before banning; I trust Madrugada's judgement.

The problem with giving other mods temp ban abilities is that there's not really such thing as a temp ban; they're just forum bans given on the understanding that they'll be lifted. No feature for the specific purpose of temp banning exists at present.

Ah, I wasn't aware there was no clock for those. Hmm... *shrug* I'll leave the suggestion for later, but I know now it's not something we can implement yet.

Yeah, autotimed bans don't exist here.

@Bobby: What about giving the temp ban mods regular ban powers and trusting them to lift their bans on their own, on the honor system? People who would abuse the honor system would not become mods.

Nthing Glenn Magus Harvey and Haven for mods, and I agree with GMH on Nornagest. I don't know Goggle Fox well enough to form an opinion.

Just wanted to ask again that the administration communicate with each other more in Hollers, since I find it odd that nobody knows how long Solstace is banned for.

Harma makes a compelling point. Hm.

I would support the appointment of Glenn, and Cliche if he's willing.

I would support Haven and Desertopa as mods. I have reservations - nothing major, but they're there - about everyone else.

Seconding Haven and Desertopa.

As for myself, I'll have to think about whether my real-life situation allows me to take on the responsibilities. I'd be happy to do so, otherwise; I'm also happy to serve in an advisory position.

To be perfectly honest I would be happy to take on the responsibilities of being a moderator myself, but I know that other people may think I would do a horrible job, I have no real "seniority", and I think that volunteering to be a mod is not necessarily in good taste. I guess the only thing others may see as going for me would be not having e-friends and having a lot of time. However, I know that I would try to avoid letting my own personal bias and feelings get in the way of the job. I also think that the way I would act in "mod mode" would be different than how I act now since I would view being a moderator very seriously. Yeah, I sound like a politician, sorry.

Frankly, I find this discussion of who should and should not be a moderator to be a bit strange, but I am a weirdo. I guess my vanity is showing again, sorry.
