i've seen the episode summaries, and they're rushing the end of banquet.

i wouldn't be surprised if they do the tea parties for ep4 in the second half of episode 26. because really, deen has done an awful job already, why would it be better??

Thank God we are going to get the translations of the Higurashi V Ns so late. If you think they are doing an awful job now, you would have melted your keyboard in rage with... pretty much everything they did in Higurashi. Umineko has been a nice adaptation so far, and is leagues above anything Deen has ever adapted.

Yeah, I don't get the anime-hate from some VN fans. It's been a pretty faithful adaptation so far, with most of the omissions having good pacing reasons.

Well, Deen also made the Fate Stay Night TV anime, which was good enough, and they're also making the upcoming Unlimited Blade Works movie. At least this isn't as bad as what I've heard about the Tsukihime anime...

Episode 16 aired !

It's nice seeing Beato being called on her complete hypocrisy yet again, by Battler this time round. Dejected!Beato is hilarious to watch.

Just saw the 16th episode. Umm... Well kudos to Kyrie and Rudolf for lasting as long as they did. EVA-Beatrice is striking me as a vengeful and sadistic Asa Shigure, by virtue of seiyuu. That aside, I can't be the only one detecting Foe Yay between Beato and Battler, right? I seem to be liking said ship as of the recent episodes.

Foe Yay is the whole point of the relationship between Beato and Meta-Battler in the third and fourth arcs. As I've said many times, I find spurned!Beato hilarious.

She's like a Kuudere, as in, I swear, the first person I thought of that could go exactly like that was C.C.

Rudolf always kind of struck me as looking like anime-James Bond. Now I see I was justified in thinking that.

BTW, this is the anime that has made me resort to Fan Nicknames the most, I can't possibly keep track of 30+ guys. For me, Eva-Beatrice's new furniture are Grinbitch and Mikuru.

Seconding Mikuru on that one; she was the first character I thought of.

It's impressive how a Closed Circle series about the same group of people stranded on a island manages to add more and more characters with each arc.

(And with names like "Siesta 410" and "Siesta 45", Fan Nicknames are pretty much mandatory...)

Heck, since I've spoiled myself a long time ago:

It's surprising that a Closed Circle mystery not only gets more characters, but we've got characters actively invoking Decoy Protagonist, usurping the Big Bad spot, inserting their own pieces out of nowhere.

My personal favorite is Battler going from denying witches to becoming one. Can't wait till they animate that part. grin

As the folks on Scans Daily like to say, it's never just you.

Rudolf always kind of struck me as looking like anime-James Bond. Now I see I was justified in thinking that.

He reminds me more of Lupin III, but that's probably because he dresses similarly.

410's voice is somewhat annoying. Well, at least the fact that that's a shotgun shell continues the string of mundane murders. Everyone's using sawed-off shotguns too, so that really diminishes the list of suspects for this round. The mention of how the Stakes could be killed by gunfire despite being magical is pretty telling, if I do say so myself.

Straight through the medulla oblongata huh? Ew, no wonder they censored that.

Anyway, we got some back story, which I'm sure will be very important in the upcoming arcs, Rudolf's humorous one-liner about westerns, the return of Worldend Dominator and I liked the Siestas' leitmotif. Decent episode.

except, yknow... the emotion being chopped to nothing and all....

Only there's still plenty of emotion and at least they haven't done anything extreme like... the entire Shion Answer arc in Higurashi.

Does that involve omitting the permanent Twin Switch thing?

I liked the Higurashi anime. So there.

@Mapi-chan: Yes, that changes many things about the arc and gives Shion a whole new level of tragedy, in addition to subverting like half the Twin Tropes there are.

...and I still liked the Higurashi anime -it's my second favorite in fact- and I'm grateful it was done, as badly adapted as it was.

Which is why I want it to get the FMA Brotherhood treatment. So. Damn. Badly.

I've just watched the (completely spoilerless) preview for episode 17 on umineko.tv, and I laughed hard at Eva and EVA-Beatrice fighting over who gets to take over the show.

Also, "Mahou Shoujo Pretty EVA-Beatrice" is made of Win !

For the love of Haruhi that's just... What, Mahou Shoujo Pretty EVA-Beatrice? Isn't that something from Hayate The Combat Butler?
