Ooooh. I haven't had time to do more EP 6 research, so I'm fuzzy about the minor details.
My FF.net accountThe good news is that I happened to take some time off from work this week, so I should have plenty of time for this. The bad news is that I had some other stuff planned (a Durarara marathon !) that I now can't see how I'll find time for...
I just finished reading Episode 6.
OW MY BRAIN.
Good stuff.
A few quick spoilered comments:
- We get a look inside Kyrie's head. It's a SCARY place.
- Maybe not quite as scary as Demon Terminator Jessica, though.
- Erika is a complete psychopath.
- I'm now almost sure that one of the silliest-sounding fan-theories was right, only it's not Shkanon, it's Shkannonitrice. But I'll need to re-read 1-4 to be certain...
- I still don't know how Kanon, or whatever their name is, got out of the closed room at the end, though.

Ah, I read it wrong, sorry. =P Yeah, the hints were becoming too obvious already.
I believe I need to reread the EP 5 now, as previously thought it had killed that theory.

Why Episode 5? (I seem to recall there was the Summation near the end when Erika got everyone in one room, but I don't remember if Kanon and Shannon were both there. And given Erika's habit of picking fights with ghosts and talking about Bernkastel at the dinner table, she might be an Unreliable Narrator herself, despite being The Detective.
I was more worried about Episode 1 - Shannon's dead in the first Twilight, and there's even a corpse. But it occurred to me that the only ones who ever saw the corpse were Hideyoshi, possibly Dr. Nanjo, and Kanon. But why would two of those three lie about it?
Now I'm wondering who in the household knew. Hard to imagine Genji didn't...

In EP 5, Kanon and Shannon were, indeed, at the same room when everyone was gathered together. I know Erika's point of view is a bit weird, however, I assume that, as long as we ignore the mentions to the Meta World, everything she saw really happened. In EP 5 the only really supernatural thing she saw was Battler being pushed by wind, imo, and that can be explained as some adult recognizing Erika's "detective authority"(I believe EP 5 was also, initially at last, a prank). Notice how no one, even Maria or Kanon and Shannon ever react to her mentions of the Meta World, despite being, supposedly, aware of it.
About the other episodes. For EP 1, the only one who saw Shannon corpse aside Kanon was Hideyoshi. It is a bit weird for him to lie, but in Ep6 is shown he was aware of George and Shannon relationship, maybe Kanon asked him to so he could end things with George without hurting him?. EP 3 is the weirdest, actually. Not only Hideyoshi, but all the other parents would have noticed. There is, of course, the problem of how many more poeple know and why they kept secret. [[Natsuhi is the worse. It is hard to picture her not noticing an extra servant and even harder she going along with the farce.]]
Now an interesting (and maybe a bit useless) thought about that thery: I believe the body is Shannon, that is it, she is the original, Kanon would be crossdressing. This is because Battler only closely examined her corpse, never Kanon's Even in EP 1, Battler never showed much concern about Kanon corpse. Now, lets say that when one of then 'die' and the other survive, it mean they are choosing between George and Jessica. In EP 3 and 4 they die together and we don't see their deaths in EP 5 (do not know what happen in EP 6 yet). In EP 2, Jessica died, so they had no choice but choose George (that is it, Kanon died with Jessica). In EP 1, however, both George and Jessica were alive, and, yet, Shkannon chose between one of them. That is it, given choice, Shkannon will chose Jessica. Shkannon is a girl, she choses Jessica. Interesting eh? =P

I think Shannon is the 'original' - Battler recognized Shannon when he met her in EP1, but had never seen Kanon before.
It's hard to imagine a boy successfully disguising himself as piece-Beatrice, but it's also hard to imagine Shannon disguising herself as Kanon and still being able to breathe.
Also, this explains what Battler's "sin of six years ago" was - leaving Shannon and not coming back for so long. (At one point in EP6, Shkannon and/or Beato has a flashback to Battler describing his ideal woman—aside from the 'mass murdering supernatural entity' part, it's a perfect description of Beatrice.

The fan joke is that DEEN couldn't afford better animation because they blew all the money on the voice-actors. (Although I think the art is generally OK, with a few moments of QUALITY.)
From EP6, another little tidbit: Kanon mentions that Kinzo used to take him out to shoot rifles. If Kanon's a good shot, that lends a fair bit of support to my theory that he was the who killed Natsuhi back in EP1 (we never saw his corpse), and probably a lot of other people, too.
they used Sayaka fucking Ohara a.k.a yuko ichihara
oh... they also had itsuki and kyon. in reverse positions!
let's talk about something interesting... like...
Requiem of the Golden Witch...

I'm the spark that makes your idea bright. The same spark that lights the dark, so that you can know your left from your right

Yeah. The EP 6 patch was released early today.
I find weird that Kanon out of all characters is saying things like "Give it all! Never surrender! No regrets!". Also, battlefield.
