Regrettably true, but again not really any different than, say, a Trekkie or Warsie.
Granted, though, considered solely by themselves, ST and SW are rather more public- and popularity-friendly than a good bit of products made by the Furry Fandom.
That was almost exactly my first thought, on seeing the winners for Director and Movie, except I used "Jimmy" instead of his full name.
Not being an FF fan, the reference sailed well over my head, I'm afraid.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpWell, the Blitzball is a sport akin to American Football (not really, but close enough), only played underwater. The game states that players hold their breath (magical water aside) for two 5 minutes halves of the match - it is said that the best Blitzball players can sleep underwater.

But eventually you have to wake up.
Sorry I could not help it.
I agree with the point about one furry ruining something. I go to a convention(Megacon here in Florida) and its usually pretty much sci-fi/fantasy/film until last year. There was this massive anime and furry take over, and well even though these people made up like 10% of the people there they really ruined it.
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans.Aquaman can! But unfortunately, that's about the extent of his abilities, so he remains a joke. Poor guy.
I wonder if this is a recent thing. I went to a con up here in Ohio a few times. I don't remember what it was called, but it was a small-moderate sized one. The first couple of times, it was awesome. It had a bit of everything: sci-fi, fantasy, comics, movies, video games, and even board games (Dn D was popular).
I go again the next year and a small but incredibly annoying factor ruined it: a freaking bizarre combination of furries (And I'm not talking about the socially-acceptable kind), "OMG KAWAIII!!!!!" anime fangirls, cosplayers (The weird kind, not the cool kind), and (And I MUST emphasize that these were the worst on this list) LAR Pers, showed up. They were so incredibly irritating that it was nigh-impossible to enjoy the show.
They were everywhere, they were loud, and they were desperate for attention. It was sad. I don't think I'll be returning to the con this year. God help them all if the "Avatar Furries" make a cosplaying appearance there!
We can all learn something from the Legend of Zelda and it's triforce, Power is nothing without the courage and wisdom to make use of it...Yeah the con is in a week, and well I am kinda scared to see what trends Avatar brings to the table. If it brings Sci-fi back that would be great. If it brings the furry/anime/fangirls I will be sad(though some decent Na'Vi cosplay chicks will not ruin it).
You will never love a women as much as George Lucas hates his fans."God help them all if the "Avatar Furries" make a cosplaying appearance there!"
And disturbing, if you really think about it, because they have a point. Did the "Furluminati" finally get to James Cameron and coerce him into making this movie to generate a new, creepy generation of furries? Only time will tell...
We can all learn something from the Legend of Zelda and it's triforce, Power is nothing without the courage and wisdom to make use of it...I had to listen to a crazed fan (Unfortunately a friend...) go on for upwards of an hour about how Avatar didn't win the "Best Picture Award". I thought it was kinda funny. It won several others, about special effects and whatnot. And my friend was absolutely ENRAGED when I pointed out that any film tossed that much SFX budget money has no reason not to win.
You know what really gets me about it? James Cameron hasn't, in ANY interviews I've seen, given ANY credit to the Special Effects guys. They, quite literally, are the only reason his movie isn't in a bargain bin, and he seems completely unappreciative.
He did the same thing with Aliens, where much of the artwork that made the movie wasn't even his idea, yet he claimed the entire thing was "his vision".
I've done some 3-D modelling, and I can tell you it's freaking hard. Yet he didn't so much as say "I couldn't have done it without the SFX team at X". IMO, that's a pretty big douchebag move...
We can all learn something from the Legend of Zelda and it's triforce, Power is nothing without the courage and wisdom to make use of it...H. R. Giger was the guy responsible for the Alien's design. And the movie was directed by Ridley Scott.
READ THIS COMIC. | Read along as I play through my games collection! But Dan wrote it. :p
Incidentally, the alien Ridley was named for Mr. Scott.

Sakamoto demands an explanation for this shit.Ah, yes, my Wiki-fu has not been perfected yet, I'm afraid.
James Cameron did, however, direct the sequel Aliens, so disregard the former.

I can't have you close, so I become a ghost and I watch you, I watch you.Only managed to see this recently, so here's my $0.02
- Norm was in a good position to do something plot-important, and I was slightly disappointed by his lack of... well, anything. Actually, he was who I was expecting to call Jake out on FUBARing both the tribe itself and any chance of the them being friendly towards humans in general.
- Actually, the total lack of anyone calling out Jake's questionable decisions. It would have been a much more believable movie if someone had done that, even if they had been shot down.
- The huge amount of No Endor Holocaust pretty much spoiled the ending for me.
- Did anyone else see it in 3D and get thrown by the also-3D photos stuck to the fridge? I thought that was the 3D effects messing up at first.
Though it was a good way to sink time for 3 hours, the SFX were awesome, (so long as you aren't watching too closely) but I'm hoping for some actual storytelling in the sequel.

I wonder if given enough time evolution would guide the Na'Vi to create their own tree-powered version of Four Chan...
